The absolute best BBQ in all of New York. The brisket is to die for. 10,000/10 on service, food, and ambiance. Worth the travel north from the city. Baklava cheesecake was unbelievable. Highly recommend the brisket, Mac and cheese, ribs, and wings. Oh and GO NAVY!

Wow. Didn’t expect anything before coming and left with the top experience. Ribs are delicious and i got extra two bottles of their BBQ sauce as souvenirs. Highly recommend. The outdoors seating is great with the fountain that adds to the atmosphere

After hanging out in Rhinebeck we just couldn’t decide what to eat from all of the amazing restaurants they have. I stumbled upon smoky rock while strolling down the main street and I’m so glad I did.
The meat platter was so fresh. We got BBQ ribs , pullled pork, and mashed potatoes and they were
I’d drive back to Rhinebeck just to have this phenomenal meal again!

Fantastic food and service. Absolutely loved the blue cheese coleslaw! Hardest part of visiting was getting over the sticker shock. Very expensive! I would say go on a date and not with the whole family unless it’s a very special occasion. Wish I could afford to visit more!

Ended up here with five friends for dinner last weekend and I loved my food. I had the half rack of St. Louis Drive rub ribs, cornbread, and macaroni and cheese and a side of blue cheese coleslaw. I was able to take half of my cornbread home because it was a big portion, but I ate everything else! Others at the table got turkey burger, the wings, brisket and only my friend that had the baby back ribs said that they could’ve been more tender. But everyone else enjoyed everything they had, including the desserts!

After an afternoon enjoying the snow in Drayton Park we stopped at Smoky Rock Barbecue. From the moment we walked through the door we felt welcomed into the cozy stylish restaurant. The beer flight and food were delicious . My favorite was the sampler which had the most tender fall off the bone ribs. The service was exceptional and I even inquired if they could open a similar restaurant in our hometown of Saratoga Springs! We will definitely be back there soon.

We loved this place! Why? Because as self-proclaimed barbecue snobs, we have been searching for good barbecue in New York for a long time. We started with barbecue gumbo, which I didn’t know I needed in my life, but now I do. It was such a nice surprise! We had the pulled pork sandwiches with slaw, and they were really good—the best we’ve had up north. The pork was smokey and tender, and flavorful—it really needed minimal sauce—which was also delicious. We tried the collards, which were perfectly prepared, as well as the burnt end beans, which were unique but really good. Everything was well balanced, the drinks were great, and the house-made desserts are out of this world! We took home the maple bourbon pecan pie and the baklava cheesecake. The owners take a lot of pride in their food and it shows. The staff are all pleasant and fun to talk to, and the owner/chefs/bakers are such nice people. Our server, Lindsey, was great! We went on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon at about 4, and sat outside. It was the perfect time to be there. We will be back!
