Let’s begin with the service which was quick, friendly conversation, and overall ok. It was a little interesting walking in you think you would order at the register then we were asked to sit first then someone came to serve us.
The atmosphere is rough, rugged, bbq style feel, and diner type of look as well. The restaurant wasn’t as clean as I would like it. You can see the bbq bottles are worn.
Now onto the Main Event: the Food! The burnt ends were full flavor and good sauce 8.5/10. The pulled pork could have been warmer but the flavors and seasoning were on point 8/10. Fries were solid as they should be 8.5/10. The bbq chicken was good but could be improved on flavors 6.5/10. The cornbread and butter spread was really good 9/10. Overall this place is worth a try, places that smoke they have long cool times were can hinder flavors an heat depending on when you come so I always suggest multiple meats. Cheers!!!
I came here for lunch at 12pm and got the brisket, pulled pork and pork ribs. I get to BBQ places early in case they sell out of what I want. There was no line, and only a handful of people on a Saturday.
Staff were awesome. Very attentive, very nice, great people.
Did I eat it all… Yes. Was it good, yes.
But I was looking for a Texas style BBQ experience, and this was not it.
The brisket was good, not great. A little dryer than desired. A little firmer than you would expect from professional. The bark was not noticeable. A common theme.
The pulled pork was much dryer than it should be and the smoke flavor was not present. There was no bark.
The pork ribs had no bark as well, much firmer than desired.
I’m sure the meat would be much better as a sandwich. That seems to be the #1 seller there.
The good stuff was the Mac and cheese which was great. The BBQ sauces were fantastic! Each one has a different flavor. It’s a good thing The sauces are so good because they are necessary to accompany the meat. My expectation on great bbq would be not needing the sauce to be flavorful.
The corn bread was also well done. No nonsense corn bread is my preference.
$40 for the LG brisket plate with mixed fat/lean with the premium side. Worth it!
we got the large combo ribs with brisket and extra sides. more than enough for two, plus leftovers.
Lots of booths, super friendly service, mellow blues music, very laid back in a casual place, with lots of parking.
The Mac and cheese is excellent as well.
I’ve requested for extra fatty meat and they did not disappoint.
word of mouth and speaking with a few patrons who were eating one of them telling me they come here every other week I knew we made the right choice.
the smell of the various BBQ meats was intoxicating coming from the small little shop with blues playing in the background it was perfect the service was second to non and the different BBQ sauce at the table made every bite tasty and savory and phenomenal cannot say enough I highly recommend
