First time trying Smokin & Tipping BBQ it was delicious loved the taste of the brisket and yams & mac & cheese. However wish the ribs would have had more meat to them and less fat and bone but the taste was good.

We drove from Tracy to head to the mall. But we wanted some barbecue. We were going to go to Buffalo Wild Wings, but we chose to go check this spot out. This was our first time frequenting. It’s located on the corner near beautiful neighborhoods, busy streets, and tons of businesses. Parking choices were in a broad range. The owner/ cashier was very attentive and informed us that there was one customer ahead of us. We let him know it was our first time. His partner/ cook Bubba was also very friendly. We ordered ribs, brisket, mac, yams, greens, and sodas. I’m a seasoned cook myself. The BBQ sauce needs a bit more bang. The brisket had a bit more fat than my liking, The ribs and the brisket could use a tad more seasoning. But both were tender! The Mac n cheese was cheesy like I love. Because I can cook greens, I’m very partial. I thought they were decent. I am not a fan of the lots of stems left in the collards. The yams were good. I can’t eat my BBQ without those three sides. So, each one is crucial in my overall meal. I love their plastic containers with the foil that holds in the heat, sides, juices, or extra sauce. I love supporting my folks, so we will come back to try a few more items. My husband likes links. It’s hard to find clean establishments, bbq, and good service. I’d give the food a 7 out of 10. This was our experience! Fyi: My greens photo didn’t come out great.

I’m writing this as I eat. I’ve wanted some bbq the last few weeks. throughout the day I was looking on yelp for bbq spots as I live 45 minutes away. Found this place and asked a few coworkers if they have ever been here… None of them. Got the 3 meat plate, I ordered the brisket, hot links and ribs, potato salad and Mac n cheese. I’m going to rate them individually. The Mac n cheese 9, good flavor and didn’t skimp on the cheese really good. The potato salad 9, again it’s really good. The brisket, 10 if you know good brisket then it checks all the boxes. The hot link, 1 link … ♂️ It’s a hot link. I didn’t get the ribs, I think I got tri tip… And that was a 9, checked all boxes. I paid 35 buck, I would like to see a little bigger portions, I understand the protein… But the sides could use another scoop each lol. I’m very satisfied! Very good BBQ, I will return for sure! I highly recommend this place. Lady working was sweet took her time and explained how to order…

Potato salad, ribs, and brisket were all delicious. 5 stars would recommend, it’s worth it. They give you pretty good servings for $25. Id rather spend my $ here than give it to a larger restaurant with less quality.

We had the BEST BBQ SPAGHETTI in Modesto! Its ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! The tri tip sandwich and sliders are amazing, and pulled pork sandwich SCRUMPTIOUS!!! OH and the service was A+ !!! Everyone should check it out!! We spent 50 for all that food!! Fed 3 people.

I tried this food truck today. It was down by 5 points. The guy was buy himself but still prepared our order rather quickly. He had a table and chairs to sit while you wait. I got the 2 meat with 2 sides meal. Brisket and a hot link with baked beans and Mac n cheese. My son substituted Brisket for tri tip but everything else was the same. $55 dollars ($54+$1 card fee). Portions were generous, food was very tasty. I’d prefer less bbq sauce but that’s because I prefer the smoked flavor of the meat. Satisfying.

The food is not what the reviews show imo, the meat itself isn’t anything special. I got the 2 meat plate got the Brisket and got the Tri Tip with w sides, Mac salad and Mac and cheese. The meat itself is probably a 6/10 barely any bark or seasoning on top of it dry. They definitely tried to make up for the dryness by dousing the meat with some very terrible bbq sauce/ honey molasses sauce not sure what that was. The Mac salad was 100% store bought Mac salad I’ve had it a million times I would know and the Mac and cheese was Plain Jane overcooked noodles. My coworker got the Cole Slaw and they said with their own words it was packaged shedded cabbage with mayo on top. I’m not trying to bash the place but the quality control is bad, food truck looks all messy from the front windows, the meals also say they come with drinks which I assume price is factored into that but when the guy told me they were out of drinks he still charged me full price as I wouldn’t notice. Overall this food truck screams low effort the guy didn’t even want to take our order when we walked up ” seemed high on cloud 9″, then when he finally acknowledged us he seemed bothered by the fact we were ordering. This has to be #1 spot in my book where the positive reviews DO NOT match the food or service. I really wanted to be surprised by the food or the service but it’s just not there.

UPDATE: I called, and the owner answered, confirming that the business was opened and providing additional location info. I got there, placed an order for the 2-meat meal. The owner was very friendly!
The meats I chose were ribs and brisket, with sides of beans and potato salad. The brisket was cooked perfectly. The ribs, on the other hand, were tough. The sides were overly spiced, but good. Reduce the spiciness, and I would’ve given an additional star. Overall, I would still suggest to support this small business!
DON’T BOTHER!! Zero stars on everything, cuz ‘business hours’ mean nothing, and neither does answering calls or using social media. Like many reviews have stated, the business isn’t opened during the stated hours of operation, no phone calls are answered. AND the owner doesn’t even use social media to at least let it be known when he’ll be operating. Would love to have at least had the opportunity to try it, but won’t even bother looking again. Geez, man, people understand that you have a personal life, but handle your business like you give a crap…
