I visited Smokin Rails for the first time and tried the onion rings, burrito, brisket tacos, and banana pudding. Everything was delicious. The onion rings were crispy and flavorful, the burrito filling and satisfying, and the brisket tacos tender with a nice smoky taste. The banana pudding was creamy and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, Smokin Rails offered a really enjoyable dining experience that I’d happily return to.

Great outdoor seating for dog owners or those just looking for a spot to eat outside on a beautiful Saturday. We were camping at nearby Andrew Jackson State Park and saw this was close to us. Labeled as BBQ joint, but we all had Mexican plates. The California burrito was top notch, street tacos were great, as was the BBQ quesadilla. Didn’t try the margaritas but they had local IPA on draft. Hostess was friendly and we would recommend.

We went around 2:00 on Saturday so it was not super packed. The service , ambience and food we’re all very good. I got the vegetarian burrito. It was literally the biggest burrito I’ve ever had in my life. Their portions are large so if you wanted to just get one entrée, you could probably share it with someone.

The hot dogs were just ok but could’ve been better with toasted bread and more chilli. The fajitas 3 way vegetables were slightly undercooked. The chicken burrito was mostly rice. Very good friendly service.

We just stoped by for a drink because we were in the area but the place seems fantastic! Very kid friendly and I hear the food is amazing. The bear selection is minimal (only a few taps) but still don’t miss this place if you’re in the neighborhood. We will be back to check the food!

Finally stopped by to try as I’ve seen many people recommend it! Great place and atmosphere. The service was great. The gentleman who sat me at a table was kind as well as the lady behind the bar. Drink stayed full.
I got the steak and eggs breakfast and overall it was really good. Great portion for the price. The steak itself was okay but more on the Denny’s/IHOP side of a steak. Not bad but not the best either. The croissant is a great touch versus toast or biscuit. It was really fluffy and delicious!
I will certainly be back here for other items. Not sure if the lunch prices are smaller portions or not but they don’t appear to be based on the menu. That being the case I would be more than likely to come back for lunch versus dinner based on cost.

Great food. Excellent service. Wife had Al Pastor tacos and they were excellent!!! I have a California burrito that was pretty large n full of their ingredients. Food was very fresh. I finished my plate and was full and didn’t feel bloated as from eating other food from other places with crap ingredients. I will definitely come back if I’m in the area again. I am intrigued to try their bratwurst on their menu next time.

We’ve eaten here a MANY times now, and I can definitely say that the food is always top-notch, and the service has ALWAYS been fantastic. You really need to try this place out. So many great choices for great food. Recently we stopped by just to grab a few burgers and wings (delicious).
In previous visits the fried calamari was absolutely cooked to perfection (if anything could be said that might be a tiny bit of a downside is that we would have loved a bigger portion size to share, but in reality that’s probably a hidden “pro” rather than a “con” because it’s an indicator that it was so delicious and tender). The burgers were thick and juicy! My wife liked the look of my street tacos so much that she traded me a portion of her hamburger so that she could try one of my steak tacos! At first I wasn’t inclined to do so, but you all know the saying, “Happy Wife Makes a Happy Life!” so of course I agreed (glad I did because the hamburger was awesome too). The owner-operator even took the time to come by to check on us, and we took a moment of his time to ask about the history of his establishment. He used to operate a food truck, but had the opportunity to park the rig and open the brick & mortar restaurant (which was added onto the long established Hickory Hills Smoked Products business), which he called “a blessing.”
Long story short, if you’re anywhere near the area, I’d highly recommend this hidden gem in the heart of Van Wyck.

Wifey and I are new-ish to the area. We were told to check this place out. First time was excellent. We typically wait until after the 2nd visit before doing a review. Well, 2nd time there was a couple days ago. We’re still talking about it. One of the tastiest hamburgers my wife and I have ever had. No lie! And that California Chicken Burrito was delicious, too! We’re looking forward to frequenting this place. Keep up the excellent food quality and friendly service! Smokin’ Rail is most definitely a hidden gem. If you’ve never been, you’re missing out.
