Great place, I’d definitely come back if I’m ever passing by again. The reason to come is the meat, unsurprisingly. My ribs were fantastic. The bbq sauce was tasty, as was the nicely moist cornbread. The sides were a disappointment- bland potato salad (though if you don’t like it really tangy, like I do, it’s otherwise quality stuff) and the coleslaw was way too sweet. Their iced tea was flavorful, a nice change from the usual colored water these places usually have.

The owner and staff go above and beyond to make it a very enjoyable experience. All the food is amazing but the brisket is over the top. Took family from outta town and they can’t stop talking about the tri-tip sandwiches and the huge portions. My 11 yr old son has a crush on one of the waitresses.

So much better than the place that was here prior. My wife had the tritip box. Tritip was juicy and tasty, fries were crispy. The mac and cheese had great flavor but the noodles were a little squishy. I had the beef dip sandwich. It was very good. Good amount of meat, crispy fries, bbq sauce is great, the au jus was amazing!!! Will eat again!!!
EDIT- 2 months later. We have eaten here a couple more times. The food has only gotten better. The staff is very friendly. Recommend 100%

Food was delicious as always. I got the tri-tip cheese steak. Wife got the BBQ chicken sandwich. I got the beans, she got the garlic fries. Beans were better, fries were more abundant. Only two problems: 1) AC and swamp cooler were both out, so it was insanely warm inside and 2) the food was so hot we both burned our mouths; my wife so much so she has a blister!

Pulled pork was amazing, can taste the apple juice they spray it with. The BBQ sauce is the perfect tang and sweet. Tritip was fantastic! Coleslaw was a great choice and the side of onion rings was spot on. 2 of us split a combo and rings and it was plenty!

I ordered the tri tip sandwich & it was small with very little meat on a small square bun. I’m very disappointed since the previous BBQ restaurant Arnold’s was much, much better. In comparison there’s a bout half as much meat on the “Smokin Joes” sandwich even the bun was not as good. I’ll never go there again. It’s too bad people couldn’t recognize a superior BBQ joint when it was there! ! Typical Redding, to run a great place out of town for a sub par local dump.

Joe and his staff are amazing and make us feel like family every time we go in. My daughter is in a wheelchair and he has made every effort to make the building accessible for her and others in her situation, he even mentioned that he has ordered a lift for the front of the building. The food is great, the atmosphere is comfortable and we will continue to frequent there.

Paid $28.83 got a pulled pork sandwich and 3 ribs with fries nothing came with the sandwich the picture showed coleslaw and the ribs should have had 4 ribs and garlic bread No bread was in the box. I called them when I got back home they said coleslaw was extra and they don’t have garlic bread for the rib dinner but my pulled pork sandwich was on garlic bread. I feel I got Ripped Off ask what you are getting before you order that was way too much money for what I got they should change the picture on there menu or tell people that if you want what is in the picture it will be more money.
