This is great barbecue served by established caterers out of an old, refurbished gas station.
The greeter/cashier was really friendly. She was happy to tell customers about how they slow-cook their brisket and make their mac and cheese fresh for every order.
I tried all three sauces on my pulled pork: standard tomato, spicy, and a Carolina herbed vinegar. Each was a good example of its distinct style.
Bonus points for the restaurant’s cleanliness, TVs, outdoor picnic tables, and kitschy gas station drive-through.
I’ll definitely go back to try the brisket, ribs, chicken, and the Tex-Mex inflected appetizers.

Im a frequent customer to Smokin Jax. The last few times I have gone through the drive through, they forgot the bbq sauce so this time I made sure to ask for it. I get home to find out the bbq nachos I ordered were just dry chicken and chips. Nothing else. When I called to let them know, they wanted me to come back just for the other toppings. Pretty unsatisfied. Even though the food is good when you get everything, I wont be going back.

Got the pulled chicken sandwich “jacked up”… Super good! Smoky and tender. Added the Carolina Gold sauce, the jalepenos and mayo that made it “jacked up”, and some sweet slaw…. pure chicken sandwich heaven. Delish. Nom. Would go again.

Stopped by for a pulled pork sandwich, and I’m so glad I did! Friendly folks, fast service, and delicious food. The pork was cooked to perfection, they give you the perfect amount of your choice of sauce on the side (which I love, because the bun doesn’t get soggy), and the baked potato salad was something I’ve never tried before (but will certainly seek out in the future!). Great place to eat if you are looking for BBQ in Berea.

Was passing by on business and ask Some locals where to go to get some good grub. Without hesitation they tell me about this place. Food was awesome and huge portions. We were working in Berea and checked this place out due to the reviews. I have to say I was not disappointed. Extremely friendly staff, reasonable prices, food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. I had the smoked wings, side salad, and sweet potato casserole. The smoked wings were as good as any I’ve ever had. I’m going to make it a point to come back out here.

We jumped off I-75 to for lunch ….If your traveling its an easy access to the highway. The meats were great ! Portions are large. Sweet potato pie is a must! Very clean, and friendly staff.
