This is a delicious bbq joint! Typical southern bbq feel, with real low and slow cooked meats (huge piles of oak outside). We had the nachos platter which gives you a taste of brisket and pork over chips, loaded with toppings, sour cream and guac ! Best of all, I finally found a place that rivals my favorite bbq sauce, theirs are excellent . We will be back to try the ribs, drinks and more!

The smoked brisket is incredible. Add to it the great variety of sauces and sides (e.g., the Mac-n-cheese is a must), and you can’t go wrong! Highly recommend!! Local is better than a chain restaurant hands down.

Used to be Jack’s BBQ. First time yesterday going to the new place Smokin’ Jack’s Bar-B-Q. The renovations that were made was nice. Has a full liquor bar with great drinks. Food was delicious. Staff was friendly and on point. Definitely going back. If you have not been give it a try.

Well… This was nice surprise. My companion and I had taken a long drive from Mount Dora to pick up a dining room table in Clermont. It was extremely heavy and we were both very hungry, having left Mount Dora without breakfast.
After loading the table, we searched (on GoogleMaps) for something quick, not wanting it to rain on the newly acquired table and chairs in the back of the pickup.
While a couple of fast food joints were closer, we wanted something with a little more nutritional value and something, well, more appealing to our palates. I saw Smokin’ Jacks barely a mile away and the decision was unanimous.
I was a little put off by the fact that we could not sit and have our order taken by a server. I’m glad we stayed, though…
My companion had been once before, long ago, and the establishment had undergone a change in management since then. I had never been. The TV menus were new to us both and the screens cycled a little too fast to take them in. Daily specials were written on a chalk board and they were of excellent value.
I opted for a three meat combo platter. My companion, all ribs. We placed our order at the counter. The attendant was pleasantly gregarious and answered our many questions politely and thoroughly.
It only gets better from here.
Despite being understaffed, our food arrived promptly. We did not have to return to the counter to pick it up. It was brought directly to our table. Everything was nice and hot and everything was absolutely delicious. The ribs were smoked to perfection. One can see the surrounding pink layer in my picture. There were multiple sauces from which to choose already present on the table, all of which I sampled, and all of which I appreciated. The waffle fries and onion rings were both fried correctly; not burnt too crispy or under-fried and soggy. A big slice of Texas Garlic toast was included and also perfect.
The portions were more than adequate for a meal there and a second meal in a take-home container (of which my companion and I both took advantage, and both enjoyed a second time).
A dessert was brought to a fellow diner’s table while were packing our to-go boxes and it looked so appetizing that I wished we had time to stay and order dessert ourselves.
The rain had to be beat. And we needed a nap.
Everything was wonderful (both times) and service was fast enough that we did beat the rain home with time to unload the table and chairs.
I’m very glad we decided on Smoking’ Jacks and I will make a point of eating there again the next time I find myself in the area.

After I got out of the hospital, the first big meal I wanted to eat was a plate of ribs. Jack’s BBQ hit the spot! Tasty ribs and all the sides were great. Fast service and no wait in line. I usually get takeout but the restaurant is always clean. I like the sweet & spicy sauce and the Carolina, try them both.

Went to check it out and very happy I did! The service, food, and location were great. Very clean! Had the brisket and was delicious. The sides were also worth it. The garlic toast was crunchy and *not* depressing/soft. Highly recommend!

What an awesome little treasure. I’m from St Louis and we were looking for a little mom and pop type place. This fit the bill perfectly. The BBQ nachos were spot on and huge. Took more than half home for dinner. Staff was so friendly and the price was excellent!!!

Update: I sent an email to the restaurant and, I assume the manager, promptly replied, apologizing for the low quality of the food, and offering a full refund and some free ribs. We will give Smokin’ Jack’s a second chance.
My husband ordered this today to bring home for lunch. $134 thrown out in the trash. I can’t comprehend how a restaurant can sell food like this, it’s so unethical and disgraceful.

The food (and smells) here are amazing. The staff is very sweet and helpful. Very tasty BBQ place. The owner is very personable and comes out to interact with guests. There’s a full bar here too with drinks made especially for the Minneola/Central Florida area. Which is pretty cool. Definitely worth checking this place out.
