I go there often and have a “usual”. I get the brisket and tater tots with mac and cheese. It’s very good food and huge portions. I CAN EAT, and I always have leftovers. I decided today to try something different, went with the ribs, and the Cajun corn and black beans. AMAZING flavor in the corn with the beans, not what I expected, they were very good. I them moved to the ribs, and huge chunks of meat slid off every bone as I tried to pick them up. I ate the ribs, and realized that I didn’t have a big pile of bones, it was mostly meat. I can’t eat any more and theres still half left for dinner, and I almost want a nap. Bottom line is this, if you want great food, and have basically 2 meals go there for lunch. Oh I almost forgot, I also bought her home made house BBQ sauce by the bottle. I put that on food I make at home, it goes with any meat.

The owner is rude and will serve you old food. The brisket is mostly fat and the corn bread is nasty and dry. The fried chicken is flavorless and not how African Americans would make it. All and all this place is only good if you are drunk after the bar and cant tell good southern food from people trying to cook soul food. On a scale of 1 to 10 this place is a 5. Only a matter of time before this place is out of business… Please do better. This area needs good soul food.

This is the worst place I have ever eaten at. The first thing I noticed is that there was no other customers there on a Friday night. The place looks run down and dirty. That should have been my first clue that the place was terrible. The soda machine doesn’t even work. There was only one person working on what should be a busy night for most restaurants. I ordered ribs, collard greens and rice. My order came up really quickly which leads me to believe that it wasn’t cooked fresh but probably warmed up in the microwave. The portions were big but the food was slopped on top of each other. My rice was watery. I would never eat there again. The only thing I would say was positive in my experience was that the person working there was very friendly and courteous.

This was probably the worst BBQ I have had in Rochester. The portions were big, but the food had no flavor. Ordered Ribs with a side of Mac & Cheese and biscuits. Biscuits were hard as rocks and basically uneatable, Mac & Cheese had no flavor, and the BBQ Sauce on the Ribs was suspect and paste like. The food was plated horribly also, my ribs were put right on top of the Mac & Cheese which I did not care for. If your craving BBQ, your better off going to Dinosaur or Sticky Lips.

I need to come get food here at least once a week if not more….. my whole family loves it ……and the great part is that there is always leftovers because the portions are huge ! It is truely a hidden gem in canandaigua……great food and friendly service 🙂 and my diet is very restrictive and there is still food I can eat and enjoy 🙂 The owner is so accomadating…..I would recommend this place highly…..its not just hots and hamburgers …..it so much more than that
