It was an ok place. I went to dinner with some family, I met them there. When I arrived the waitress took a while to acknowledge my presence. Once I ordered it took a while to get my drink, and an even longer time to get my food. I ordered the beef sliders (mini cheeseburgers) with fries. It’s dark because there was a band playing live music. They were ok, one of the ladies kept screaming into the microphone. It was loud. We couldn’t conversate. I was eating my food and I went to eat a french fry and I felt something so I took my phone out to use my flashlight to see what it was and was grossed out to see a hair. I don’t have black hair. So it wasn’t mine. They did take my food off my tab. I hate to leave bad reviews, but I have to say I’ve never had this happen to me before. I won’t be going back.

As in previous iterations of this space, the service was lousy at best. Our server missed two items we ordered. One we ordered a second time and received (spicy cheese curds) and the second we ended up not ordering (an old fashioned). The food was decent (spicy cheese curds were lightly breaded, slightly spicy, and had a nice texture). The brisket sliders were okay (tender and juicy, and the sauce was at least average, but the meat was very fatty) but the accompanying fries were dried out like they had been under a heat lamp a long time.

The music was a little loud, but not horrible. The night we were there, a blues/funk/soul band was playing. The backing band was very good; the vocals not so much. But that’s not the venue’s problem.

However, it seems that no matter what restaurant occupies the space, the service is always terrible: slow and inattentive. The servers miss items (a notepad to write things down would help) and the kitchen is very slow to get food out. I don’t know if there kitchen is set up so poorly that they can’t make food in a reasonable time, the servers don’t pick it up when it’s ready, or what. That’s what drags my rating down considerably.

Went for supper nov 1, we ordered beers and a soda, the waitress had our drinks on the carrier., another group had sat in her section, she put our drinks down on an empty table and took orders from her new table, when she brought our drinks one of the beers were wrong. We ordered 2 prime rib, burger and an appetizer. All the wait staff was going from table to table with orders asking them if this is what they ordered. I went to the bar to get more drinks because our waitress hadn’t been back since the drop off of drinks. I had asked for a glass with my beer which I got when the burger and appetizer were dropped off .by another server. It took another 12 minutes for the prime rib to be delivered. We ordered prime rib 12 oz and 16 oz. one med and the other medium rare. The sizes we ordered were cooked incorrectly and Luke warm when we got it. And we didn’t have the right knife to cut it, flagged down a waitress still going from table to table asking if this was their order. 100.00 for this experience? Really? All I can say is don’t worry about us coming back. We were so excited about a new restaurant coming to bird town!

What a great place! Great food, great music, and strong drinks. Then venue is BIG and the band plays in one section, which works well because you can hear the music from anywhere but it’s not so loud that you can’t have a conversation. The absolute best thing about the bar was the dynamic duo bartenders, Johnny and Daniel! They made new customers feel like old friends. We’re definitely coming back for their tag-team repartee and their creative bartender’s choice cocktails. Great experience overall!

Came in on opening night and was not disappointed. Had a great time here with my wife listening to music and had a few cocktails. Staff was great and we never had to wait for a new drink.

We came in late, so we didn’t have any food, but other tables items looked pretty good. It is great to have a sports bar back in Robbinsdale!

First time I went I would have given 5 stars…. That was about a month ago. Now I just went back & brought friends & they were out of a lot of food & drinks. The server was awesome, but we did cut our visit short & decided to go elsewhere. I’ll come back & hope it goes back to the 5 stars I experienced the first time, but really my second time was more like a 1 star experience. The band also started about an hour late & we weren’t the only ones to walk out on a Friday night.
When we went back i watched a server spit in a drink. It appears this place is gone now & it doesn’t surprise me. Sad because it was so close & is a huge spot. I hope something good ends up here!

There used to be a bar at this location that was among the worst and scariest drinking experiences you could have in the Twin Cities: poorly managed, inattentive staff, and dodgy clientele being over-served every night. Smokin Flame came into the spot under new ownership/management, and cleaned house in the best possible way! The vibe now is friendly, there have been a few upgrades on the interior (notable, the bathrooms have either been revamped or are just being kept much cleaner, can’t really tell). The staff is great and the beer selection is better than it was before. Their concept for food is sort of BBQ/Soul Food, and I’m no expert, but haven’t been blown away by anything that I’ve eaten there. They were also out of a few menu items when I went, but honestly, they had just opened around that time and were probably still getting a feel for staffing/inventory/everything else. So long story short, I wouldn’t go just for the food (it’s not bad, it’s just not great), but it’s an awesome spot for a late night drink and some lively banter with both strangers and neighbors!

Sat at a table for a good 5-6 min and we were not greeted or acknowledged at all. Seemed like the bar was more important than the tables so we moved to the bar. Sat there for a good 3 min until we finally were asked what we wanted to drink. Asked for a couple menus and the server said “hold tight” walked away to serve another person at the bar their drinks and didn’t come back. We ended leaving and didn’t get a thing. Horrible service and the place maybe had 10-15 people in there so wasn’t even busy.

Our group had an awful experience. They knew in advance that we were coming yet had 1 waitress and maybe a very inexperienced cook…or marybeth waitress did the cooking too.
I can’t imagine how it could have been that bad otherwise. They were out of brisket. Out of avacado. Salad dressing was the wrong flavor.
Waited for 1/2 hour for our drinks, over an hour for any food, which was over cooked, yet room temperature, and then several of us didn’t get ANY food after nearly 2 hours. The billing went the same way… disappointing and confusing. it was just very very disappointing. Not somewhere I’d ever visit again.
