First time here, was absolutely worth it! I had a major surgery in my mouth and throat just under 2 weeks ago, but we were out to celebrate My husband’s birthday. This place was all we hoped for and then some. The food was absolutely delicious, my husband whom never finishes before me or goes without sauce on his bbq ate all his food without a 2nd guess no hesitation. He didn’t even pick up his phone between bites like usual. He had ½ rack st Louis style ribs with beans and potatoes. I had moo moo (brisket) Mac n cheese (due to stitches I’m limited). Absolutely amazing food, great vibe, great music and decor. Friendly top notch wait staff, they were busy but we were seated quickly. The manager stopped after we finished, she was fantastic as well and even offered free dessert for my hubby’s bday and the banana pudding was ON POINT.
WE WILL BE BACK FOR SURE! I can’t wait to be able to try some other menu items my next go! If you haven’t been here, highly recommend. I often do not tip less or more than 20% but today they definitely earned it. For someone who is limited on food intake at the moment I left feeling happy, full and craving more!

I absolutely loved it. We came on a Monday and caught their seafood special — crab legs, shrimp, potatoes, and corn for just $19. We also ordered a pound of ribs. Everything was delicious. The portions were generous — more than enough for two people.
The place was busy, with a great, relaxed atmosphere. Music was playing, and the Olympics were on the TVs, which added to the vibe. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

There was a long wait ( Saturday night ) so make sure you have extra time. All of the food we ordered was amazing. The waitress kept forgetting things and we had to keep asking her. Our table featured Bob Marley and from what we could tell all the tables were different. There was a pig who came and sang happy birthday to a nearby table, the grandkids thought that was pretty neat and wanted to go there for their birthday.
The atmosphere was laid back and the noise was not over bearing even though it was jam packed. There was a lot of parking available even though it was busy. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family and when I’m in town it is now my new go-to.

We spotted Smokin Fatty’s while driving through after traveling from Pittsburgh to Wisconsin, and the name alone made us laugh enough to pull over. I’m so glad we did.
The vibe inside felt very 80s/90s Southern BBQ in the best way. Fun, casual, and not trying too hard. The menu was straightforward and not overwhelming, which I always appreciate.
Our waitress was fantastic. She was prompt, immediately went over the specials, brought water right away, stayed on top of refills the entire time, and even offered suggestions based on what she personally liked on the menu. Once we ordered, the food came out quickly and was freaking delicious.
I don’t think I finished a full meal during the four days I was on this trip, but I absolutely inhaled everything on my plate here. No regrets. Would 100% stop again if I’m passing through.

Let me tell y’all about Smokin Fattys. I ordered the birria beef and noodles and nearly shed a tear. Tender, juicy, flavor-packed like somebody’s abuela whispered blessings over the pot all day.
The jalapeño hush puppies? Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with just enough kick to remind you you’re alive. And the elote? Creamy, cheesy, messy in the best way. I would absolutely risk corn stuck in my teeth again.

The food was okay the Mexican corn had a funky smell and that smell transfered to the taste. I described it to my wife like it tasted like sweety feet smell. The menu should read something different cause the description doesn’t truly match what you get. Yes you get a cheesy fried taco with beef broth to dip them in but they are not birria tacos the meet is tender and taste fine it isn’t cooked like birria though and doesn’t taste anything like birria tacos. The chips and salsa was the best thing that came with the meal. The salsa is on point and the chips were good.

Stopped in while passing thru Indiana, and I’m glad we did. Our waitress Katie was awesome and gave recommendations. The whole staff was fun to chat with and engaging. They were sweet and attentive.
But.. the food was delicious. The Mac n cheese very good but the ribs were excellent. Try it out if you’re near Elkhart.

We are consistently impressed with Smokin’ Fattys, visiting at least once a week. Sonja provides exceptional service, always greeting us warmly. Upon our arrival at the bar, she proactively prepares our preferred beverages: a diet soda, water, and a Russell’s Reserve served over a large ice cube, demonstrating her remarkable attention to detail. The entire waitstaff and team contribute to a highly positive experience, ensuring our continued patronage. Furthermore, the cuisine is outstanding, and the desserts are truly remarkable.
