Finally stopped. Well worth the time and effort. Great bbq. Beef and pork tried. Both excellent. Pork was cut and I ate mine like candy. Dunked chunks into some sweet bbq sauce. Will definitely try it again. Customer service was excellent! They make it all there. It is not cut until you order it. Definitely recommend.

Smokin D BBQ is hands-down some of the best BBQ in Saint Augustine, and honestly, some of the best I’ve had anywhere. The food is a straight 10 out of 10—perfectly smoked, packed with flavor, and done the right way. This is real BBQ, no shortcuts, no nonsense.
But what truly sets this place apart is the staff. The people here are beyond friendly and absolutely amazing. Their attention to the customer is phenomenal, and you can tell they genuinely care about your experience. That kind of warmth and hospitality makes a great meal unforgettable—and they nail it every single time.
Important pro tip: they open at 11am and close by 7pm, but don’t let that closing time fool you. Most days, they sell out well before closing because the BBQ is that good. If you want the full selection, get there early.
Smokin D BBQ isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. If you’re in Saint Augustine and don’t stop here, you’re missing out. I’ll be back again and again.

Perfect location for this bbq take out gem. I was heading home from measuring a job up in St Augustine and discovered Smokin D’s.
I was stuffed after eating their Beach Bucket with smoked turkey. See photos.
Yellow rice on the bottom, bbq cowboy beans in the middle, a generous helping of chopped, smoked turkey on top with a piece of Texas toast on the side.

In the words of Arnold, “I’ll be back “

This is a true ‘middle of nowhere’ gem! It’s an eye-catching establishment that feels like a step back in time, filled with the sweet smell of Southern BBQ. While we were short on time and couldn’t stay to eat, the prices looked great and parking was a breeze.
The highlight was the old truck on-site. It reminded me of the one from the Jeepers Creepers movie (which was filmed in Florida!). Definitely a cool spot to stretch your legs and take photos. I’ll be back to actually try the food next time!…as long as it is not during the Creeper’s hunting cycle. Every 23rd spring. But you know what? If the food tastes as good as it smelled it would be worth it.

We gave Smokin’ D’s BBQ a try and overall, it was a mixed experience. For the price, the amount of food we got was reasonable. The sliced beef was tender but lacked flavor — the BBQ sauce definitely helped with that. The pork was cooked well and stayed juicy, while the chicken was relatively dry. The ribs were very dry and seemed like they may have been sitting out for a while before being served.

As for the sides, the potato salad had an overwhelming amount of mustard that overpowered the rest of the flavors. The yellow rice was actually quite good — cooked just right, not too hard or too soft. The beans were a mix of red, black, and baked beans, but they tasted more like chili than traditional baked beans.

The parking lot wasn’t very RV-friendly, so we ended up parking at the Circle K right behind the restaurant. On the positive side, service was quick and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Not a bad stop, but there’s definitely room for improvement in a few areas.

We stopped here for some BBQ and were not disappointed! We ordered the Son of a Beach!! Feast. In it we ordered ribs, chicken, brisket (beef), and baked beans with garlic bread. It was all delicious. The BBQ Sauces were on point.
You stand in line to order and pick up. They were super fast at getting our order out. Like in under 5 minutes! We got our drinks (sweet tea and Pepsi and our food was ready! That quick!
They have outdoor seating on tree stumps. Which is nice. There is shade under trees.
There is a gas station next door that Semi’s or RV’s can pull into to park and order.

For Over 10 years we’ve enjoyed consistent, DELICIOUS BBQ from Smokin D’s. From Wet Wednesday to Rib Thursday, the Beach Bucket I love it all! Today we served a large birthday party with the catered meal. What a great way to serve fresh and delicious food to so many people with ease so we could still have plenty of beach time! Thanks to Smokin D and all the staff for always being so friendly and timely! Until next week ….the Wheelers.

Far from the best barbecue I’ve had. I came in with great expectations as it looks like it would be fantastic, but just alright tasting food. They cube their pork instead of pulling it, which makes it super juicy and that texture was great but without drenching it in sauce, it had little to no flavor. Good thing the Texas heat sauce was awesome. The ribs had okay texture to them and okay flavor, meats really had a lack of salt overall and needed a hefty amount of sauce to make them good. The beans however were awesome, some of my favorite BBQ beans I’ve had. I’ll admit to being a bit of a barbecue snob, but this was underwhelming. Service and atmosphere were fantastic though!

Saw a sign off 95S and was hungry so I stopped in. Maybe they had a bad day but the food was average. No need to stop again for me but give it a try everyone else seems to like it.
