Smokin’ Dave’s is a legendary and award-winning BBQ concept here in Northern Colorado! The first location opened in 2007 and they’ve been growing ever since! There are now 5 locations: Denver, Longmont, Lyons, Estes Park, and Greeley. All the locations are somewhat the same with a few differences in the menu and what they offer (catering, party rooms, etc).

Absolutely delicious! I had the smoked pork belly sandwich with deep fried southern okra and my wife had the brisket with dry fried southern okra and Mac and cheese. We were both wondering what Greeley would know about Southern fried okra but we were both wildly surprised by how good it was. Definitely enjoyed the food and glad we ventured off the main roads to find this phenomenal restaurant.

Wife had surgery so we ordered delivery. It was quicker than estimated time. Ordered the Reubens, it was decent. Bottom was soggy and top bread was hard. Fries were just normal fries, beans were the best part of my meal.
Also ordered the double platter, pork and brisket, both were dry. Corn bake was just ok, green beans the same , the best part was the corn bread.
All in all it was just ok. Probably would have been different in person, but probably won’t try again.

3 top. Seated quickly on a saturday night. Fried pickles are freaking amazing. The green chili may have been made with a salt lick. Too salty. Ma’s mac and cheese had great green chili flavor and bacon flavor, lacked cheesiness, was flour thickened and not so cheese flavored. Texas jalapeño sausage? Totally worth it in all flavor profiles. Catfish? Please order this! It was amazing! Spiced apples recommended by friend, they loved it. Lots of good food and worth the price. Not everything great, will definitely visit again. Thank you Lilli for excellent experience and service. Hush puppies delicious mention too.

Meat was really good, greens need seasoning really really bad and Mac and cheese was disrespectful and childish.

I dunno man.. with a menu like this I expected southern hospitality. The servers breaking their neck not to make eye contact so they don’t gotta speak to me. Waited about 5 minutes, gave the server my brightest HELLO, and she looked like I inconvenienced her and said she would be right with me and tried to scurry off to the back. If I hadn’t already done a pick up order I would have walked off on the strength of that interaction. I’m patient, but I definitely don’t like getting ignored or avoided. A “welcome in, we’ll be right with you” goes such a long way. couple after me got greeted immediately.. which made me wonder if it was my dreadlocks and casual attire or… Something else.. didn’t feel good. I didn’t like it

Food looked good visually but taste was poor. Ribs, brisket, and corn bread were incredibly dry, very disappointing. We frequented the location off Hwy 36 and Pecos, was pleased to see they had a location in this area we just moved too. Service was good but food was not. No salt at the table and all we had in our silverware bags were forks, bathrooms are shared (not desirable at all). We most likely won’t be back and would not recommend.

The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the BBQ sauce was decent and same with the cornbread. Brisket was overseasoned and dry. Didn’t know if I was eating brisket or beef jerky at some points. The ribs were tender but only edible after scrapping off ½” of seasoning from the top. Pulled pork was dry but decent with BBQ sauce. Chicken was fine and sides were mediocre. Don’t think we’ll be returning.

I ordered takeout! The service from the girls was incredible. They gave us free drinks while we waited! I appreciate it! But when we got home, the ribs were burnt and dry, the chicken was very dry, and the brisket was burnt as well. Honestly, we ate what we could because we were hungry and I went to work at 4… the order said my order would be delivered at 2:41 and I waited more than 20 minutes, the time wouldn’t have mattered as long as the food came out well, and the okra didn’t come out. But it was the first and last time I’m going there.

While the food at Smokin Dave’s BBQ is fantastic, the service has consistently been lacking. If you place a to go order, make sure you check it before leaving. Orders have never been completely correct. The BBQ itself is great, but the repeated service and order issues make the experience frustrating.
