We haven’t had good brisket since moving here. When you ask for “moist” at most places in WV they slop something on top. These guys at Smokin Bear actually know what they are doing. The smoks flavor is great the meat is tender and moist. Wow… Not quite hill country but damn close.

Absolutely some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had, and easily the best in the area! If you want a sandwich, I recommend the Oakster (pictured), which has both brisket and pulled pork totaling 1/2 pound of meat!

This place was exactly what Bridgeport, WV needed. I’ve had good brisket, ribs, corn bread, Mac and cheese. This place is original and has its own take on BBQ. I really enjoyed it and so didn’t my family. Would definitely return.

Love that we finally have an awesome BBQ place in the area! I had their brisket and ribs last night, one word DELICIOUS! Didn’t care for the potato salad but the baked beans and banana pudding were great sides! I will definitely be going back to try their pulled pork and other dishes. The brisket was so juicy and delicious! If you like BBQ you’ve gotta check this place out.

You order and pick up at the counter. This makes it seem like a long wait if the line extends to the door. If you consider the time it would take for a waiter to take your order and bring it, it equals out. It took us about 20 minutes.

I had a pulled pork sandwich with pickles & onions (they were out of everything else – got there too late) mac & cheese, and cornbread. It was delicious, and I can’t wait to go back (earlier next time) and try the brisket and ribs!! Everyone was so nice & helpful. Also, their food is very reasonably priced. You can’t go wrong – give it a try 🙂

I’m in town for military training and stopped in for lunch. I’m from Texas so I’ve had Franklin’s, I live two blocks from Johnny Muller’s Black Box (the guy that taught Franklin from what I understand) and these guys are considered some of the best available ANYWHERE! I have to say Smokin Bear is right up there with the “greats”! The Brisket was some of the most tender I’ve had, the pulled pork was excellent, and their Spicy Bourbon sauce was something I would order online and have sent to my house if available (and I don’t typically use sauce).

A fine addition to main street, Smokin’ Bear BBQ has done their homework when it comes to barbeque. I had the brisket sandwich and sampled the pulled pork. You can taste the smoked flavor and can appreciate how moist the brisket is. Though there was about seven people in front of us, we were able to place our order in a reasonable amount of time. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Simply delicious. Worth every penny. This is BBQ done right. I’m picky about good BBQ and this place is definitely a winner. I highly recommend and will visit again. Dinning room is doacious and clean and the service was very friendly.

WOW !!! This place is what bbq is all about. Meats are tender (knife not needed) and juicy. The baked beans……I…well…. I can’t even word about them they were so good. Coleslaw was on point. Portions were plenty. I mean I had to take a to go box and that doesn’t happen very often. You ever eaten your food slow because you didn’t want it to end?!?! I did. Best bbq joint I’ve eaten at around these parts. This is our new spot! Great restaurant, great owners… CONGRATULATIONS guys !!!
