Oooo weee!! Last time I visited this place I got a little taste of the burnt ends. Today I was able to get a 1/2 pound order and gud lawd…… how ole boy said it on nem videos…..tendernism. We about to make it a habit of going here often this year for BBQ. I highly recommend this place.

The owner/hostess was so pleasant and made us feel so welcome. We were impressed by the service and the quality of fresh made mode. The wife got the jackfruit sliders and fried pickles and I for the spicy sausage link with Pork tips. Amazing food. Definitely recommend for value for money and authentic bbq.

Best BBQ in the area! My husband gets the ribs or burnt ends, I get the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Baked beans and dirty rice are so good! Nice people, very laid back atmosphere. Small batch food that feeds the soul.
Smoking Jacks has nothing on Smoking BBQ on 45 even if they sort of stole their name. Which imo was fairly disrespectful and ignorant of the Emil’s brothers for being neighboring BBQ places.

We ordered catering for a Friendsgiving and it was DELICIOUS! Turkey was already sliced and portions were beyond gracious. The prices were perfect and I am looking forward to catering other lunches!

Nice little place in a strip mall on the corner of 45 and Hawley. Had the two meat combo, ribs and brisket. The brisket was the best I’ve had in a long time. Tender, juicy, and flavorful. The ribs were also great just with the rub. they didn’t need any sauce. We also enjoyed the collard greens and the spicy cabbage sides. The owners were friendly and welcoming, and the prices are very reasonable for eating out bbq these days. Will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu! I’m glad we checked this place out, I think it is going to become our go-to for BBQ!

Delicious smoky flavor BBQ sauce w kick. No too much but enough to wake up your taste buds. Mac & cheese was nice and cheese. I ordered pulled pork, Mac & cheese and corn bread. All worth checking out.

I recently tried the Crazy Mac w/ Pork and absolutely loved it. The mac was ooey-gooey with just the right blend of cheese and seasoning, and the pork paired with spicy BBQ sauce delivered such a satisfying burst of flavor
That said, there was a small hiccup: I had specifically requested a large bun, but it wasn’t included when I checked the take-out bag. To make matters worse, a group behind me got served before I did and when I asked the cashier if my order was coming up, I was told, “We process them in order” and “You can call ahead with your order.”
Looking forward to coming back—especially hoping that large bun shows up next time!

Amazing BBQ!
We’ve been to a lot of places around the US and for a mom/pop owned restaurant in North Chicago, we’ve never been more impressed.
Not only was the service quick and kind (chefs even came out to greet/thank us!), but the food spoke for itself. It was high quality, generous portions, full of flavor. The brisket was so tender and juicy, served with sauce that perfectly complemented it. Ribs were fall-off-the-bone good and all the sides came out hot. Even down to the bathroom, which was spotless, we haven’t found a fault yet. This quaint place does not get enough hype, if you’re looking for delicious food in a welcoming environment you must try!
Will be back again, and next time with friends and family!

Delicious Bbq and amazing customer service. Small but very cozy restaurant. No fountain drinks available. Limited parking because of neighboring businesses.
