Went here on a Sunday at 1pm for lunch to support local business and try something that is different to this area. Upon entering was greeted by someone immediately and she gave us a few minutes to feel out the menu.
They have a wide selection of choices and it can be a bit difficult to make a choice as it smells wonderful when you walk in.
My son went with the Rancher burger. He was impressed with the stamp on the bun and said it was a nice touch to the overall look of the burger. The meat was cooked medium as asked and the onion ring and cheese were all melted in together. It was a good burger but $18 was a bit pricey for me especially when it just came with a handful of chips on the side.
With that being said…. I figured I would get something small for myself and got the brisket slider that also came with handful of homemade chips. The slider was exactly that…. A slider. The brisket was delicious and the sweet bbq sauce on the side was good. It has a great taste and is not to thick or smoky. I would have loved if the bun was warm on both burgers rather than being cold. Just a little touch to make it better.
We also ordered chili cheese fries to share. This was the disappointing part. The fries were the last thing to be given to us after we finished the burger and slider. They apologized before hand after we had waited 15 minutes and said that the chili was warming up and would be out shortly. Once it came out we were kind of over it because we had finished the burgers already. The chili is ok. It had just a few beans, one piece of meat in the entire batch of fries and the base is just to acidic for me. It still had that vinegar tomato taste and I felt like it just hand not really been stewing for long. It was not what I expected for $15 fries. Overall it was a good experience. I would definitely try it another time just to try something else and see how that turns out. Great addition to the neighborhood and definitely worth a try.

I live across the street from here. I’ve seen the sign for awhile now and wanted to try it but never did…..until today!!!!! Stopped in with my fiancé who was definitely skeptical of a BBQ place. Assumed it was just going to be some pulled pork and brisket place with the country style sides…..OH NO, ITS SO MUCH MORE!! Their wings were TOP NOTCH. The best wings I’ve ever had from a restaurant. This is easily the best BBQ place in NJ. We also got the Brussel sprouts, brisket quesadilla and BBQ grilled cheese, and chicken fingers which were all fantastic. And the staff was awesome, very friendly. Prices are on point and the restaurant was spacious and clean. We will definitely be back!

I RIBS, brisket pulled pork down to the mac and cheese and the perfected coleslaw absolutely freaking awesome!. The homemade spices and sauces what is the cream of the crop the icing on the cake!

We visited this establishment at 3pm on a Wednesday. We were the only customers in the place (mind you I like uncrowded placed). I just hope they are busier other times so they make it. When I arrived the person at the counter continued to speak to a salesman trying to get their business for whatever they were pedaling. You have to order at the counter before you get to seat yourself. My food was brought out to the table very quickly. My burger was delicious but the fries were VERY salty. Salty enough that it had rubbed onto the burger roll, compromising an otherwise excellent sandwich. Then I noticed I was never given a cup for the self serve fountain drinks. My wife’s ribs were good though she felt her portion was smaller than she’s gotten in other establishments. I will try them again and see if I can get fries with no salt.

Hands down the best BBQ in NJ. My first visit I ordered a bunch of stuff to really get a taste for their variety. I got their ribs, brisket and pulled pork as well as one of all their sauces. All the sauces were delicious. The spicy sauce had a great kick. The vinegar sauce was tasty! But the winner for me was the Bama sauce! Everything was cooked to perfection and made with skill and craftsmanship. It filled me up and it tasted great. I will be making my 40 minute drive each way quite often to support this gem of a joint. The owners were also super friendly and personable. This family owned business has all the right ingredients, in their food and their hospitality.

I have been following Smokies since before they even opened their doors!! Once they opened I knew I was waiting for something AMAZING!!. First thing I ever ordered was a Brisket Cheesesteak with Pepper Jack & EXTRA Bama Sauce! It MELTED in my mouth and I could not get enough! I’ve never had a Bama Sauce made so well that I want it on just about everything!. Their fries taste homemade in the BEST way! So flavorful and just the right amount of salt. The pork belly burnt ends literally do melt in your mouth, warning they can be filling lol. At some point the awesome owner Dave, who is constantly working hard and tweaking the menu for his customers as well as season/ and what he can get for a fair price that’s good quality without completely breaking the bank, decided to bring out a Southern classic.. A beautiful smoked THEN fried Bologna sandwich. It may be something simple and old school but for me it was something new and interesting. It is now in my top favorite and I can’t get enough! When it comes around on special I try to get there as much as I can! Oh and I will say this until I am blue in the face… BEST BBQ AROUND!!!

This place is amazing! By far the best bbq within 100 miles. Brisket was tender and had great bark, ribs amazing! Also staff super friendly. I will be a regular there… Also just fyi. Yes they can run out of food . They are making fresh BBQ and not mass produce garbage bbq like the fast food chains. Try going to Texas. Same things happens. They make so much and run out. Smoking takes hours. Get there early if you want to get served. There is zero reason to criticize them for running out.

I took my Nephew there tonight. It was the first for both of us. We both really enjoyed our meals. I had the Baby Back Ribs, and he had the Brisket. I have Zero complaints. Everything was excellent.
Take note if you are on a date be careful of the Smokeys Signature Baked Beans. Lol
