This was the worst experience ever here for a 1st time. Customer service was rude and very unprofessional. First, I advised I have an online order, Response: we ain’t got that and close the window. No concern on looking for it, or asking where it was placed. Second, come back with my phone, showing the order. Response, oh, shows to woman in kitchen. We don’t have that order. Faced frunched as if Im getting on her nerves. Smothered turkey wings. Fiddles with computer then looks at me we don’t have that. Hold on a second, window closes. 3rd, window opens and he hands me my bag. Sorry bout dat.
So I received jerk turkey wings. Drowned in sauce, that poured over into the cabbage.
Problem is I have acid reflux cannot eat spicy food. I showed my order to you. Why the attitude! I got the wrong order, food I cannot eat, and horrible customer service. I try to support black owned businesses but, this type of poor attitude and customer service is what kills it for me. Never will I visit here again. Just don’t open if this is what you offer.

SO delicious! I am so glad I stopped by on my way home from work. The jerk turkey was seasoned and cooked really well (falling off the bone ), and the sides were yummy too (green beans and mac & cheese). The portions are big imo. It came out pretty quickly as well! I can’t wait to return!

Sooo I was pleasantly surprised with the food. This was my third choice. My normal place on Gresham was closed. Piccadilly in the mall shut down (who knew!), but I was craving soul food and I didn’t want to drive far. Well now they have a new customer! I had smothered tw, with dressing, greens, and Mac. Wife had pulled pork sandwich, yams, and cabbage. ALL the food was good especially the tw and the yams. I wanna go get more yams and try different items. Again they did good. I will be coming back.

Umm I hate to say it but either the dressing was spoil or that tangy taste was NOT IT at all… it looked so good but taste wasn’t there mainly based on the dressing but the turkey wing was ok rice was over cooked but the Mac and cheese was DELICIOUS…. Overall I STILL wanna try something else on the menu and maybe it’ll be DELICIOUS like the mac

I was excited to try this new soul food option but, as others have lamented, I was sadly disappointed. Based on the signage and owner responses to unfavorable reviews here on Google, there is no pathway for fixing food quality issues.
I ordered the brisket with mac, baked beans, and cornbread.
As previously shared in other reviewers posts, the cornbread was extremely dry (see picture). To explain further, it crumbled and I actually had to spit out the first bite. This may well be because it was possibly baked earlier in the day and not stored in a manner that would keep it soft or tasty.
The mac was very salty and had a strange tangy taste.
The brisket lacked flavor and there was a pool of oil under it in the plate (see picture). The barbecue sauce that was sparingly placed on top tasted similar to Sweet Baby Ray’s and helped give the meat flavor.
The best item on the plate was the baked beans with ground beef. It was still a bit salty but manageable.
The price for the amount and quality of the food was not comparable.
Customer service was nonexistent however there was a young child there helping who had a wonderful attitude and even took pride in saying have a nice day (the two stars are for her).
After reading reviews and responses, I noticed that pork, beef, and chicken are cooked on the same grille albeit different grates. As someone who does not consume pork, I hope this practice will change.
In summary, with some adjustments to include improvements to the recipes and quality control as well as some training around customer service, things could get better.

I went to the food truck parked outside of Grady. Didn’t expect much because I’m vegetarian. But they had lots of sides for Vegs and an overall hefty menu for a food truck which usually only have a handful of items. The fried okra (made fresh, seasoned and perfectly crunchy) & potato salad were bomb. Chef & cashier super friendly and welcoming.

I visited Smokez because it’s a neighborhood black owned business and I wanted to support. I ordered grilled chicken and it did not disappoint. Please note, the food is pricy, I paid approximately 15 dollars for 2 leg quarters. I’m glad I tried them out. The young lady at the window was a delight. She is extremely friendly. The chicken was cooked to perfection. I can’t complain about anything.

The establishment is an outdoor similar to a checkers style restaurant. Very clean on the inside service was very detailed. The young lady who served me was very nice and knowledgeable and patient while I figured out my food item a choice. The food taste and looked amazing tonight at 10 will definitely come back.
