We recently visited Smokez & Bubbly, located at 1301 Assembly St, Columbia, SC 29201, and it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the location and vibe immediately stood out. The atmosphere is energetic, stylish, and welcoming—perfect for brunch.
We went for the Brunch Experience, which offers three brunch selections. One of the highlights is the interactive omelet and waffle station, where everything is made fresh. The brunch also includes delicious accompaniments like home fries, scrambled eggs, grits, collard greens, and fresh fruit.
For our plates, we enjoyed steak medallions and Cajun salmon with bacon on the side. We also had scrambled eggs with cheese, grits, collard greens, and fresh fruit. Of course, we couldn’t skip the waffles—both the classic waffle and the cinnamon roll waffle were fantastic. (I kept mine simple with no toppings, and it was still perfect!) Everything was served hot and full of flavor. I was honestly pleasantly surprised by how good everything tasted.
The live DJ really elevated the brunch, adding that extra vibe. Great location, great staff, great music, and great food—what more could you ask for?
We will definitely be back to try the dinner menu. Bonus: They offer a military discount, which is always appreciated.

The happy hour prices and selection is well worth the money. The portions are good sized and the food is good. We had the crispy salmon medallions and sriracha laced tempura shrimp. Everything came to the table hot. The drinks were good but lacked consistency. The selection of foodis great. Will definitely come back.

A quick Smokez & Bubbly Review.. Rating: 6.5/10 possibly a 7/10… I recommend you guys to make a reservation for a BOOTH & also have more than 3 people with you because if not they’ll sit you at a table you’ll have to share with others and it be way too crowded for space and to eat. Also come EARLY because once they run out of buffet food and you’re still going to have to pay for the full buffet. The drinks was good. My shrimp & Grits was a 9/10.. my
Homegirl lamb chops was a 8/10.. they were super small.. My other friend crab cakes were too salty… the waiters were very nice and their tower drink was GOOD!! Maybe I’ll revisit at a EARLIER time in the future to see how they are… but for now it was a 6.5/10 for me..
Update: I will NOT be visiting this place again due to the company page commenting on my social media review nice nasty and lying at that. It really wasn’t that serious to lie lol.. I wouldn’t dare feel comfortable going back in there for drinks or food after that. It was best to just keep strolling instead of trying to be rude and lying lol.. I guess it’s a crime to give HONEST experiences and reviews now.

When it Comes to professionalism this place, I GIVE a 10/10. They were on point from the reservation texting to getting me and my guest seated and served. The service was A1 (FOOD AND DRINKS) our waitress was so pleasant she deserved that 100 plus dollar tip. When it Comes to a great atmosphere, food, drinks and yesss even music.. I couldn’t recommend any other place than this place. I don’t go out often. Every blue moon. But this establishment is will never have a problem supporting. Thank you for EVERYTHING. A beautiful dining experience. The lamb chops, cinnamon waffle and cheese grits was delicious. It was a relax vibe nice and clean restaurant.
The only thing I wish the table was a little bigger for the booth space. Other than that the seating was great. I traveled from Charleston so glad I did.

Stopped by on accident and fell in love.Drinks and food were amazing maybe one of the best solo dates I’ve had. Customer service was amazing servers were very attentive and the vibe was great. Live Dj doing karaoke but it wasn’t intrusive or obnoxious. Definitely a 10/10 I’ll be back.

This is legit the best restaurant I’ve been to in about 10 years. The manager, Shae, is to die for fabulous. Legitimately I’m from South Mississippi and I have been living up in the Midwest for about 7 years now and I came down here for a contract-hire position. I stopped here on a whim and yall I’m blown away. The brussel sprouts ALONE would have me coming back for WEEKS on end. That ravioli pasta that they have on the menu? My god on tonight yall, I thought I met my maker. And don’t get me started on those smoky/bubbly drinks that the bartenders SCHLAP down.
