Stopped off the highway spontaneously for a pick me up. We’d never had Smokey row and we quite enjoyed it. This location was easy to get to and get right back to the highway. Would recommend.

This place surprised me! I’m not a coffee shop person but they have quite the extensive food menu. They offer all day breakfast with things like breakfast sandwiches, muffins, & breakfast casserole. Their lunch & dinner menu also had things like cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, fried cheese curds, various soups, & other sandwiches. Everything was prepared very well that our group had!

Nice place to have a meal or just to spend time with friends. They have a coffee bar menu and a good food menu and food was good. Lots of historic pictures of the town to looke at and some shopping in house, a bit pricey though. I would have loved to purchase a Smokey row sweatshirt or tee shirt and ball cap but at almost $ 40 it was above what I was willing to pay. This place has a small home town feel, and very nice people. Lots of on street parking with handicap parking. A definite place to visit with a small group of frends and family. We had 14 in our group. Will definitely make the trip from Pleasanthill to Pleasantville to enjoy there hospitality again.

I love the Moose Tracks Ice cream and Bear Creek Carmel. My kids like going because it’s a different vibe and fun. They have the spinny stools in front of the ice cream cooler. The wait time is usually longer, but if you go into that expecting that then it’s not a problem. Just don’t go if you are in a hurry. Quality of service has never been a problem, just not in a rush. It is an older building and it has its corks. It’s a vibe, so if that’s what you are looking for on a cozy fall afternoon, then you will be presently surprised!

Cool little neighborhood coffee shop in an old brick-walled building (it’s one of several in the greater Des Moines area) with excellent coffee — we got mocha, iced, and latte with various milks — and a chill vibe. Speaking of chill, they have an ice cream counter! Along with treats like scones, cookies, rice krispie bars.
Buy coffee gear there, too – mugs, thermoses, sweatshirts, t-shirts.

Great place to grab a coffee or bite to eat. The three young girls who work behind the counter were AMAZING & offered excellent customer service. This was our second visit with a large group while in town for basketball tournament. All the orders arrived in a timely manner and was exactly what we ordered. Highly recommend this location. You won’t be disappointed.

Came in 3 hours before close wanting a simple drip coffee and was told they wouldn’t make any more because they had been busy and just finished with a rush? When we tried to say we weren’t in a rush and could wait, they changed the story and said it was broken… ridiculous, how do they have such good reviews?

Ever since going to school in Pella and living in Des Moines, I have loved visiting all the Smokey Row locations. The original always feels like home. I love the food, drinks, and pastries. Although I have experienced a few drinks errors or have had poor wait times, the workers are always sincere and will fix any issues.
