I miss the feel of the old location but the food is still really good. Pulled pork salad had a huge helping of meat on crisp greens. Loved it! The beef sandwich could have had more of a meat portion but it had great flavor. The Orange Crush was a bit strong but the cider on tap was yummy. Service was prompt and pleasant.

Typical SMD place. Pretty average BBQ. I realize its the day after Christmas and they were closed yesterday. So most of the meat etc was from the last day they were open? Not a huge fan of mission but would have preferred to go there. Mac and cheese doesnt taste homemade. Skin on fries are from a bag. I’m not unhappy about that per se, but when you advertise skin on its usually because your cutting your own. Just not my taste in BBQ. The service was friendly.

They are not a to-go friendly place. Their bags and sauce containers are cheap, easily pop open and spill everywhere. I was told they didn’t have drink carriers but they did have them. The cheap plastic bag had holes in it and utensils kept falling out.
Some of the food is okay. The meat tasted good but their sweet potato fries were cold. Bottom buns on their sliders were so soggy that you couldn’t eat them as a slider.
Service is really slow and they don’t seem to care about the customers.
I keep hoping they’ll get better with time, once they get in their groove but it’s just not happening.
I work 2 minutes away from this place so the cold fries cant be blamed on anything but sitting around. Being from NC,I am very familiar with NC BBQ style and this is not it. In NC they would be offended that food went out like this and would not make excuses for the mistakes.

We loved Smokey Joe’s when they were in Lexington Park so we had to drive down to Leonardtown to check out their new place. We were not disappointed, the place looks awesome and was very comfortable. The food has changed a little, sort of fancied up for eat in dining but that awesome quality still exists. Our meal was amazing and well portioned. Our waiter was very helpful, pleasant and attentive. I whole heatedly recommend Smokey Joe’s for a great BBQ meal.

Good food, great atmosphere. I miss their other location in Lex Park, which I think was better for their business… This location is absolutely empty on a Friday night at 7pm.
Edit: I went back again last week, and I am happy to report that this location was buzzing on a weekend evening. Their chocolate cake is the best in the county, bar none. We also got pulled pork sandwiches, which were every bit as good as I remember. We will be frequent patrons!

Got a quarter rack of ribs and the mac & cheese and sat at the bar enjoying the Monday night football game and a few drinks. The mac was awesome as was their special bbq sauce, the meat on the ribs was moist and fell right off. The staff was friendly and the bartender was awesome! So glad they moved to a place with a full bar!

Excellent service and great tasting BBQ, what’s not to love? I have yet to eat anything here that wasn’t seasoned well or smoked to perfection. Take the time to stop here at the end of your day and enjoy a cold beer or tea and great tasting food served with a smile and pleasant conversation, you won’t be sorry!

Love the newish place. BBQ is much better than what was there before. I hope they get the business to stay there because good BBQ is hard to find. I had the sliced pork sandwich and the wife had the wings. Both were awesome!

First time eating here, and we weren’t impressed. Pulled pork was tasty, ribs were rubbery and didnt fall off bone, although the flavor was decent. Fish is not fresh and the dishes should be upgraded.

Incredible ribs and mashed “taters”. Service friendly and efficient.
We’re so pleased that Smokey Joe’s was able to expand their business. We had thought they had closed and were so sad. I suggest they post the new location at their old building.
