The place was packed all thru lunch. I decided on the bbq sandwich and fries. The bbq had good flavor but just a little dry for my taste. I added the hot bbq sauce and it had a small kick. Fries were cooked good. The desserts all looked amazing so I choose the strawberry cake- it was the 2nd best strawberry cake I’ve ever had. It came out warm and the cake wasn’t dry and the taste with the icing put it over the top. If I based it on cake it would have been 5 stars.

FANTASTIC ribs !! I’m really glad I saw this on my way through town, which I lived closer, but maybe not, because I’d probably have to try all their cakes, too. The German Chocolate looked great. I had a half take with 5 ribs, and they fell off the bone when poked with my fork, never had to pick anything up. The baked beans and potato salad added a great contrast. Even the unsweet tea was awesome. Thank you !!

Smokey Joe’s BBQ is a nice local restaurant. They offer so much more than just BBQ. They have a small but loaded salad bar. A menu with lots of selections. The place is very popular and always busy around lunch time.

Let’s see.. where do I start.. I loved the location and layout of the place! My first time visiting, and it felt familiar in a comforting sense. The customer service was fantastic, and all of the smiles genuinely made me not only feel welcome, but I couldn’t help but to smile back. The food was so delicious too, best BBQ I’ve had since I lived in Memphis! Had to give em 5 stars, and I’d give em more if I could. They deserve some major recognition, because they were so busy, and still managed to smile on through! True professionals I’d say.

The owner and waitress were more attentive to a family sitting next to us. We had service but nothing like the next table. Even the owner brought out special treats for that table. Maybe they were locals that visit quite often but doesn’t seem to matter when you run a business. Should treat everyone the same. Our money was as good!! Food was good, atmosphere would have been better if the next table wasn’t so loud!
