This spot has really tasty wings! We came specifically to try their lemon pepper wings (both regular and spicy versions). The wings have a very strong smoke flavor from the smoker they are prepared in, and then they have a great texture and crunch from being fried afterwards. The lemon pepper is delicious in both varieties so I highly recommend getting both.

The other item to get here is the fried pickles. I haven’t had too many fried pickles, but these stand out as being some of my favorite ones. The pickles are thick cut and still have a fresh taste as they are not too fried. And the sauce they give is akin to an aioli or remoulade – flavorful, creamy, and rich.

Service is great – we had an excellent server who was friendly and attentive.

Atmosphere is decent – nothing to comment out.

Parking is available in the back (a few dedicated parking spots for the restaurant).

The place is very nice and honestly not on the expensive side I would have expected it to be, considering it’s in the middle of Downtown Alpharetta. The staff was good though it wouldn’t hurt them to smile a bit more often. Nothing against not doing it, I just think it makes it better for people like me that just walk in a new place to try their stuff.

In any case, I was seated very fast, got my drink and within minutes of ordering my salad, I had it with me. That was impressive. Also just about the right size, not big enough that I know half of it will go waste, not small enough that I will be left hungry. Pro tip: you can (and should in my opinion) add one of their amazing smoked sides. I ordered some brisket and it did not disappoint. The salad was fresh, the ranch dressing made in house and the brisket almost melted in my mouth.

Ended up paying around 22 bucks with tip, not expensive as said. Pretty good!

The food was super high quality. There’s no pit master in the kitchen, more like a seasoned BBQ chef. Probably the best ribs I’ve ever had, and I say this after visiting most bbq spots that don’t have smoked ribs as good as mine. This place… the ribs were better, not just the right dry rub, more like a custom dry rub with a unique marinade. The brisket was perfect, the collard greens, immaculate. Mac and cheese was kinda plain, needed some melted cheese on top with some toasted bread crumbs, but taste pretty good with a little salt. You get all you can drink sweet tea at a reasonable price. The food came out very fast and it you had to eat it very slowly because it was surprisingly delicious. Couldn’t ask for more… Maybe put some pecan pie on the menu, and some catfish… and don’t forget to serve barbecue with a dill pickle spear on the side. Very satisfying. Great job chef!

I thought that Smokejack BBQ was just mid. The service was great, which me and my wife appreciated. It was quite expensive for what it was. I ordered the half pound brisket which came with 2 sides, collared greens and mac and cheese. My wife also ordered a plate with pulled pork with the same sides. I noticed that their “pig-out” menu did not come with customizable options and none of the options were something that we wanted and we were left to just order two separate plates. In 2026, I just expect there to be more options because there are so many other BBQ places that offer customizability. The actual BBQ was just okay. It was bad, but i’ve had better.

Flavor-wise, it’s steady and familiar. Salt and smoke show up on time, shake hands, and leave early. No dramatic pepper punch, no lingering beefy echo. It eats clean, chews long, and asks nothing of you except patience.

I liked my Collared Greens, although I don’t think I’ve met one i didn’t like. With the Mac Cheese, I think they relied too heavily on the cheese to do the flavoring. I didn’t see a spec of pepper on the noodles, although the noodles were Cavatappi, which my wife appreciated as it gives a more elevated vibe, excellent in holding the cheese sauce due to its spiral, tubular shape.

All in all, i believe you can find better BBQ, especially in The South, they’re a dime-a-dozen.

Smokejack BBQ looks like a classy spot from the outside—and it absolutely delivers once you’re inside. I ordered the Holy Trinity platter (ribs, brisket, and smoked sausage) with a mix of sides, and everything hit the mark.

The brisket was moist, flavorful, and perfectly smoked. The ribs were tender with tons of flavor, and the sausage really surprised me—great taste with that satisfying snap. As for the sides: the beans were solid, the mac and cheese was just okay, but the potato salad and corn pudding were both really good.

Service was top notch—friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, this is great BBQ done right. Definitely worth a stop, and I’ll be coming back for more.

My absolute favorite place to eat whenever I’m in the US! You absolutely cannot go wrong with the family-size plates. They’re perfect for sharing (or for having delicious leftovers).

If you are looking for BBQ that requires sauces that are loaded with sugar and salt then this is not your spot. However,if you like BBQ that is smoked to protection and house made sauces that complement but don’t overpower the Smokey flavor of the meat.. then this is your place. The sides are the same, not too salty or sweet (Cole slaw &baked beans aren’t made with miracle whip or allot of sugar). Everyone on staff was really friendly I forgot our servers’ name but it was her birthday (we came Valentine’s Day) she was super kind and very prompt, told us she’s been working there for 12 years ! Which made me even more interested in this place.. when staff are that loyal it speak volumes !!! all the staff seemed highly trained, not overwhelmed, and HAPPY TO BE THERE ! It felt good to be there !! I only got a burger but would like to return and try other things !!! beverage menu (including adult beverages) matched the ambiance and cuisine.. overall an experience worth retrying again and again.

After a very cold day in Atlanta, we decided on dinner with the kids at Smoke Jack, and we’re so glad we chose this place. No reservations are needed, and even though it was crowded when we arrived, they quickly found us a table.

Ellie, who took care of us, was so warm and friendly – I wish every server could be as genuine as her.

As for the food, two of us had chicken wings, and the other had the Triple B burger, which comes with an Angus beef patty, smoked beef brisket, bacon, lettuce, and cheddar. I chose French fries as a side, and the others went with mac and cheese. For an appetizer, we ordered nachos.

We finished everything, and both the food and the service were excellent. I highly recommend it – we felt right at home!

While visiting the area, we decided to stop by Smokejack BBQ in Alpharetta—and I’m so glad we did! We were tired and almost headed back to the hotel for dinner, but this experience made it totally worth it. The restaurant is very spacious, with a well-thought-out layout, wonderful decor, and a clean, welcoming vibe. They also have metered parking in the front and a parking lot in the back, making it super convenient!

Our server, Amy, was exceptional from start to finish! Friendly, personable, and patient, she guided us through the menu and made sure we got the best of what they offer. With her recommendations, we ordered:

• 16 oz Blue Moon
• 6 Wings
• Double Cheeseburger
• 1/2 lb Burnt Ends Plate
• French Fries
• Potato Salad w/ Bacon
• Banana Pudding

Everything was seasoned to perfection and packed with flavor! The mac and cheese and the potato salad with bacon were true standouts—some of the best I’ve ever had. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, leaving us stuffed yet somehow still making room for the banana pudding Amy suggested. It was creamy, decadent, and the perfect way to end the meal.

I’d highly recommend Smokejack BBQ to anyone in the area, and we’ll definitely be back. If we end up moving down here, I have a feeling this spot will be a regular go-to!

Next time, there are a few more items on my list to try: Cherry Smoked Old Fashioned, Collard Greens, Brisket, Smoked Pork Sausage, Smoked Boneless Chicken Thighs, Loaded Nachos with Brisket, Brunswick Stew, and more. Can’t wait!
