Ordered pig belly burnt ends, chicken tenders meal, mac & cheese, and collard greens. The pig belly burnt ends were divine – close your eyes and ascend to heaven momentarily kind of pork goodness. The chicken tenders were delicious and came with potato wedges roasted in tallow. The mac & cheese was not your run of the mill elbow macaroni and plastic cheese, but huge pasta shells and fresh melted cheese. The tangy BBQ sauce provided with the meat dishes elevated everything it was put on. The only slight disappointment were the collard greens, which didn’t have enough flavor for me personally (even though there were bits of brisket throughout it). Anyway, I’d eat here everyday if my body could handle that kind of diet on the regular. I’m a fan, highly recommend, and will be back!

Smoked Lotus shares a building with Eastern Palace Club, which is a tiki bar. The bar’s fun vibes and drink menu pair well with the BBQ. The staff of both establishments are friendly and polite.

I recommend going on a Wednesday, which is when BBQ tacos are a special. I’ve tried 3 of those, most of the meats, and all the sides. The tacos I’ve had are beef brisket, pig belly burnt ends, and pulled pork. Of those, the burnt ends taco was the best, but all 3 were great. If you came here just for the tacos, I wouldn’t blame you at all. As for the meats, I truthfully don’t have a favorite, because they were all that good. The ribs were juicy and tender. The brisket looked and tasted just right. I didn’t even need a knife to cut it. The meatloaf was unlike any I’ve ever had. It was incredibly tender and had a great, smoky flavor. Although pastrami is beef, it tasted like a very well seasoned ham. Most places I’ve gotten burnt ends from dry them out, but that is not the case here whatsoever. The pulled pork was standard compared to the rest of the meats, but still better than average.

None of the sides disappoint. The beans appear runny, but were delicious. The mac had a generous amount of cheese, and wasn’t dry either. I’ve only had collard greens a couple times, but I found it enjoyable. The potatoes were delightful, but what took them to the next level was the toum it was served with. Toum is a Lebanese garlic sauce. The slaw was creamy and flavorful. Blueberry cornbread is something I’ve never seen on a BBQ menu before. Both that and the pickles tasted as they were advertised.

Smoked Lotus blew me away, and I’ll even go as far as saying it’s my new favorite, local spot for BBQ. Even the pricing is fair, especially for the quality you’re getting. If you love BBQ and haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out.

First off, big shoutout to Eric and James for consistently serving up pure deliciousness — these guys are absolute pros when it comes to the grill and sides! The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, packed with flavor, and that barbecue sauce? Lip-smacking good without crossing into “smack-your-mama” territory. The collard greens had me thinking someone’s grandma was in the kitchen — turns out, that was all James! The pit beans hit just right, and the mac and cheese brought it all home.

Much love to Ivy, Maxwell, and Barbara Jean for keeping the Rum Runners flowing…

And a special shout to Adam, one of the owners, for sharing the story behind the venue’s origins — much appreciated.

Wishing y’all continued success and OneLove!

I’m ready to move to Michigan after eating here. I ordered the pastrami, pork belly burnt ends, and blueberry honey cornbread. My guy threw in a bowl of pit beans (with pulled pork). After telling him how awesome ALL of it was, he brought me some smoked meatloaf! I wish I could try everything on his large menu, but I am flying home today.
The 1st photo was before I took a bite. The 2nd, I was feeling like John Candy in The Great Outdoors. The 3rd, success.
Go eat here!

Found this place while looking for BBQ.

The ‘restaurant’ is a small window to order in the corner of the building.

The wait for our food was about 40 minutes from the time of ordering and they shut down ordering about every 30 minutes to catch up on orders.

The food was absolutely amazing. With some traditional BBQ and some very imaginative dishes like the beans and mac and cheese.

Overall I was very pleased and I’ll be back.

Stopped in here today because my kid was craving BBQ. We ordered a full rack of ribs with Mac and cheese and greens and also had some cole slaw and blueberry cornbread. Customer service was on point. Everything tasted amazing. Meatiest ribs I’ve had in a very long time and cooked perfectly. We will definitely be repeat customers. Not sure why it took me this long to find this place so close to us!

My daughter and I ordered takeout a few nights ago, at the recommendation of a friend. It was delicious! We ordered the half rack of ribs, burnt ends, and potatoes. The meat was delicious, but the potatoes were the star of the show (plus the included garlic sauce!). The prices were also very reasonable, it was about $33 in total. We will definitely eat here again soon.

The best BBQ ever! My husband and I have been going here since they opened and I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed them yet. We just enjoyed their weekly Wednesday special, the most delicious tacos. Everything here is good, and the folks running the place are hard working and kind. From the burnt ends, to the tallow potatoes, pastrami, and pit beans, can’t forget the beachcomber dog when they have it … you can’t go wrong here!
