Smoke House BBQ is exactly what you hope for when you’re looking for genuine local KC barbecue. The brisket and burnt ends are perfectly cooked with great flavor and the kind of texture you can only get from people who truly know what they’re doing. And the creamed corn is absolutely a must order—it’s one of those sides you remember long after the meal. The whole place has that authentic hole-in-the-wall feel in all the best ways…no gimmicks, just really good food prepared right. Service was friendly, portions were solid, and everything tasted fresh and intentional. Easily a 5 star pick and a spot I’ll continue coming back to.

Both got the lunch special. Food was good enough. Slightly below average BBQ. Price was decent but the meat portion was a bit small. Service was good. Greeted at the door and our waitress was very nice.

While staying the evening nearby I came here for dinner on a weeknight. They weren’t busy that night and service was very quick. I tried their brisket and their turkey. The brisket was dry and looked like it was pre-cut then reheated. The turkey was a lot better. Their fries were really tasty and their beans were great. The potato salad had pickles in it and wasn’t very good.

Service was friendly. The spicy BBQ sauce was pretty good. Overall, it was just “ok” but nothing special.

So this is our go to barbecue joint that we like. It is smaller and a little more intimate but the food is top notch.

Set in a strip mall it is in a nice location for the hotel guests in the Northland as well as easily accessible from the interstate.

The owner is almost always in the kitchen and behind the counter serving up deliciousness.

The food is a smokier, semisweet barbecue and cooked to perfection. The portions are just a LITTLE bit smaller than I would expect but the food is quite filling. Our favorite is the two meat dinner with the burnt ends and the brisket. The sides are quite tasty as well. My favorite being the cheesy corn.

The staff are all quite friendly and outgoing. Fun to talk to and attentive.

The restaurant is always clean and well kept.

The waitress was extremely nice even though she did state that they were “busy” & “short staffed” . The food on the other hand ummm yea. The beans were cold and tasted like someone poured whole bottle of bbq sauce and mustard in them . The ribs were pretty good but cold as the burnt ends which was tasteful. I can say the fries were the only thing hot! I don’t think I would go back .

Was here in KC for a week on work. From Texas so beef is king but dang, this is some of the best BBQ I’ve eaten. Family owned. Try the pulled pork and burnt ends. Potato salad is awesome and the beans are second to none. Will definitely be back. Cheers from Texas!

Ribs fall off the bone. Baked Beans are sweet and have lots of meat. And don’t sleep on the cole slaw – some of the best! Fries were also a great surprise – crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.

Great, friendly, quick service. Reasonably priced and large portions. Well worth the money.

Lunch special was advertised for $12.49. got that and a Coke and somehow my total was over $22 so unless a Coke is 9 bucks I feel I was overcharged but no receipt to know what they did. The food wasn’t bad but for a lunch special for $22 bucks I’d go many other places before coming back here.

I got ribs which were ok loaded with sauce. Baked beans were too sweet for my taste. The fries were good and hot. Reminded me of a cheers dirt of small place everyone seemed to know each other. One of the waitress was sitting down eating with a group. Our waitress brought our food and never came back to the table. Not a very friendly establishment. I probably won’t be going back.

I really enjoyed my meal here. Had the brisket and burnt ends. The meat was good. The sides were good. I didn’t care for the two pieces of plain bread. I would have preferred garlic toast as an option. It was on the expensive side, relative to portion size, but the flavor was good. Would go back again.
