Cute little BBQ and bar I’ve been wanting to try during our long travels through Illinois. Atmosphere was good, bartender pleasant. I ordered a Bloody Mary but I could only get their Maple bacon Bloody made with Old Smokey Moonshine. I personally wasn’t a fan, it was too sweet and the maple flavor overpowering. I ordered the Brisket sandwich and my BF ordered the Smashburger, which was fine. The brisket sandwich was super dry, even after I doused it in Carolina sauce. It was almost beef jerky. I was expecting a fat slice of juicy brisket but it was shaved very thin. The French fries were good. Maybe it was just an off day but I don’t recommend the brisket.

Smoked wings were way over cooked and dry. So over done, my bones were breaking with mild pressure trying to bite. The Diablo burger had no flavor but jalapeño. The cheese bites were served cold in the center. Not good bar food. Drinks were good and nice dive bar atmosphere. Friendly clientele. Go for a drink, not the food.

Amazing food every single time. I usually go for lunch or dinner (smash burgers and spicy cheese bites being my favorite) with family and friends but today we tried their breakfast (mostly the breakfast burrito) and it was AWESOME. Highly recommend!

Some of the best brisket I have ever had. I’m not a brisket fan and this place won me over. I just have to say the atmosphere gives off country bbq vibes yet has an eclectic feel as well. Kind of a weird combo but the food won me over. Also tried the pulled pork and it was very good as well. Awesome sweet cornbread too. Mac n cheese and baked beans were the norm.

The Eclipse traffic seemed to bring a few more people than a small town bar/lounge is accustomed to on an early April Monday evening. As this is a small town place, BE PATIENT! They don’t have the luxury of having extra staff to cater to an unusual rush, however, the food (and cocktails) are outstanding! Generous portions of the pulled pork. The Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce is excellent. The Double Cheese burger and BLT were large for the price and very much to my daughters’ liking. The appetizers/sides, thought not large are adequate size and my onion rings were excellent. The mozzarella sticks disappeared so apparently my girls enjoyed them. All in all, a place I will return to whenever I go back that way. Definitely recommend the Pineapple Upside Down Cocktail for those that are looking for a nip of the “Shine.
