The whole center of the pizza was wet and doughy. The sauce, cheese, nor the toppings even stayed on the pizza because of the consistency. Not sure if this was a fluke or what but this is probably the worst pizza I have eaten.

This is one of our favorite stops in the area! In fact, I think the majority of our nights out are enjoyed at Smoke on the Water. I love how they have different options on their menu, so we can enjoy a variety of things (salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and more!). We also love how they have a good amount of Gluten Friendly options! It is always a fun time enjoying a mocktail, playing a round of cribbage or cards, with such great food options provided.

Working in the service industry myself, I am always impressed by how the staff connects with guests, and warmly welcomes them in! They have a way of savoring the experience that doesn’t make a meal out feel rushed or inconvenient. I also really appreciate how they provide a great experience as a new family. It can be difficult to find places like that! Plus, their changing table in the bathroom is a top tier addition.

Pizza was off the chain and surprisingly so was the Burger! The best part was our server, Niki, however. Let me just give one example of several: when we wanted to take a picture, instead of doing the easy thing and just snapping a shot at our booth she took time out of her serving (on a very busy time on Friday night), to suggest to us that we all go outside to a beautiful setting where we had one of our best family photos ever. She’s the type of person that just loves her job and it makes everything better.

Best pizza I’ve had since moving here. We had the gyro pizza I was genuinely surprised by how good it was. Fresh ingredients, great pizza sauce, Nice cold beer, good wine, unique and delicious cocktails. Our waitress Karlie was, professional, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable! The building is beautiful and clean. I will be taking out of town guests here, I’m so grateful to have found a place that truly knows great flavor.

I went in on the night of the 22nd expecting a good to moderate dinner experience. Especially giving it’s location and small town feel, what I experienced was far from it . The amount of time it took to find a waitress to find me a table was unacceptable especially in a establishment this small. Mind u they weren’t that busy when I arrived, I ordered a steak sandwich for myself and a gyro pizza as I wanted to review both a sandwich and a pizza the waitress told me about the gyro pizza so I ordered it thinking it would be as amazing as she made it sound. The sandwich arrived with soggy wet bread barely toasted no cheese and literally no taste at all just tasted like beef.. plus I was told by the waitress they use t bone and rib eye I’m doubting that …. As the taste was of top sirloin at best . And if u review food as much as I do you know the difference in taste ,the pizza came out floppy and doughy and was overly topped with lettuce that was mostly cores and a ton of tomatoes , never returning and hope u don’t make this mistake yourself I’m sure it’s a good spot to drink( wine )but they definitely need to work on the food side of things especially before the busy season comes will never return .

This place is worth checking out! I’ve had a bad experience here just once when they were first opening, long wait and wrong food but, I’m sure because of growing pains as this restaurant was brand new when we tried it. The last several times I’ve been here have been wonderful & the pizza is amazing. Do not skip on the pizza! The tomato sauce they use on their pizza puts them over the edge!

We biked the Masabi trail from Grand Rapids to Hibbing and then back to Grand Rapids over two days. We heard from a local fisherman that Smoke on the Water was the best place to stop along the trail. He was spot on! We arrived just before they opened and were fortunate enough to get Bailey as our waitress. She was honestly the best waitress I have ever had and I have travelled the world for the last 35 years. She was kind, attentive, genuine, knowledgeable and just a great human being. Do yourself a favor and find a way to get to Smoke on the Water. It will be worth the trip. If you are fortunate enough to get Bailey as your server, lucky you! Oh, and the pizza was amazing too!
