Such a great local place! We were going to go up the road for bbq but were keyed into this gem instead. And thank goodness we were; Smoke on the Water is definitely the best place in town! Best pulled pork I’ve had in Washington, and the chicken was really tender and well-flavored. The potato salad was a tad mustard-y for my taste (but my boyfriend loves it), and the beans and cornbread were both delicious. The owners were also the nicest people every—even threw in dessert and tea on the house! We will certainly be back 🙂

I ordered the smoked chicken plate. My expectations were modest given the price and the store front. The chicken was tender and moist. The barbeque sauce had just the right amount of tang. The beans side was more than ample and rather than the gelatinous sweet sludge from many places, it was lighter, tangier and the individual beans stood out. Both the coleslaw and the cornbread were tasty, tangy and light also. I must have benefited from being the last customer of the night because the quantity of chicken was enough for dinner and tomorrow’s lunch. I am going back for sure!

BBQ chicken that falls off the bone, brisket cooked to perfection, pulled pork whose memory is still making my mouth water a week later… This is what you can expect from this place. However, it’s tricky to get a meal here for dinner; we made 3 attempts. They were always closed early due to running out of meat. After asking the right questions, I found out the secret that the locals use… Call them up between 2-4pm to place your order and pick up no later than 5:45pm. A bit too early for dinner in our house, but for this BBQ, it’s worth it.
A few other random notes: fantastic moist cornbread. Their baked beans were sweet and almost perfect (maybe needs more bacon?). Their cole slaw was very dry, no liquid in the cup.

Pulled pork mac n cheese is excellent! All the bbq is delicious and alot of creativity on their options. Haven’t tried the brisket Ramen yet but it’s on my list. The owners are personable and engaging…you can tell they love what they do.

The apple butter BBQ sauce they have here may be the best BBQ sauce I’ve ever had – Everything else was also fantastic. The sandwich so good that after having lunch here, we came back for dinner to order the same thing.
