The burger was delicious! Better than even normal delicious burgers. And the location was so awesome because we sat in an outside covered porch while we ate and drank. Right next to the river and the server told us that dolphins swim by frequently. Very cool place

I was excited when this place got some new menu items. Disappointed in the money spent on the fish and soft-shell crab platter. There was no mention on the menu that the soft-shell crab liver/pancreas (filters impurities from the crab’s system) is NOT removed. The nasty yellow stuff inside contains PCBs, dioxins and mercury – and you should avoid eating it. It was foul tasting when I took the first bite and ruined the entire meal. Ended up throwing out the whole dinner because the yellow spread when I bit down and was everywhere. The coleslaw as pictured – must have been sitting for a while – not fresh, gray in color with bitter taste.

Absolutely a hidden gem, finally found real bbq instaed of all these chain restaurants. Brisket is real deal bbq, moist and thick with a smoke ring and sweet fat layer- the best thing we got. The ribs are huge and tasty with a nice dry rub and you get so much more than you expect in a full rack. The smoked wings are flavorful and taste smoked with nice crispy skin. Also had the beans which were just right. Dont skip the red carolina sauce, it’s a thin vinegar type sauce and very tasty. The location is really cool and watching the boats drive by in the shade with a nice river breeze is great.

Was looking for a new barbarcue place and was very impressed by this hidden gem. Lovely little place on the river….brisket was moist and dry rub was delicious. Did not get a chance to try their homemade sauce. Love the idea of wings being smoked instead of fried…came with a good amount of sauce. We enjoyed watching boats go by as we waited for our food. The sides are small but delicious!! Shut out to Sarah for her sweet kind service. Will definitely be back!

Our favorite hidden gem. Tucked away on the Alafia River. Smoke On The Water delivers outstanding smoked food. Today we enjoyed the brisket sandwich, Sampler Sliders, (brisket, chicken, smoke sausage, and pulled pork) and since it happened to be $1 Wing Wednesday, we ordered a dozen smoked wings to go. There is nothing better than sitting out on the patio and enjoying this laid-back atmosphere.

Menu items are very reasonable. Good value for the money. Pork tenderloin sandwhich is a favorite. They were sold out today, but I tried the brisket sandwich. Great flavor and good fat to meat ratio. Kid had a burger. Very well seasoned. Surprisingly good for how simple it was. Wife had gator bites. Awesome! Super crispy and seasoned. Fresh and flavorful food. Definitely would recommend!! 10 out of 10!

Well I have heard good reviews so I went and took my wife to try it. We love bbq been to over 70 different bbq restaurants. The food was extremely underwhelming. I got a slider sampler and all the meat except pull pork was extremely dry. For the price I do not expect sliders to be on half a hot dog bun. You have to go to the beer shed to get a drink. I don’t drink so having to go to a bar for a soda was not something I want to do. Service was ok but food definitely a F rating.

Great BBQ on the river? Sign me up! Got the ribs and pulled pork. Both were great. They have a regular BBq sauce and a vinegar Carolina red. Both were delicious. Great atmosphere and great food lead to a memorable experience. Check them out!!

Basically connected to “The Beer Shed”, This is not the place to come if you plan on eating healthy. They do have salads but why would you eat a salad when you can have brisket, wings, pulled pork, etc etc? Large portions and reasonable prices. Locally owned and staff were attentive and food came out faster than I thought it would due to a large group arriving on Harleys just prior to us ordering. They handled it well. Several locals actually called in prior to arriving and timed it perfectly for when they grabbed their beers and their food was delivered. Sausage, Brisket, wings, fried mushrooms and tater tots were all awesome. Outside dining ten steps away at “The Beer Shed” right on the Alafia River. Old Florida setting. We will return.
