The Fried Catfish were really good, chicken wings and roasted chicken were delicious. The ribs were ordered were OK. Am not sure if the potato salad and collard greens have been tailored for NYC market but both were watery and lacked flavor. The corn bread was tasty but had a very crumbly texture. Still a solid southern place in Queens that is reasonably priced with a lot of seating.

I recently ordered from The Smoke Pit, expecting a satisfying Southern meal based on their appealing photos and online menu, but unfortunately, my experience was profoundly disappointing. I ordered the fried shrimp, macaroni and cheese, and candied yams, and I wish I could say something positive—but the entire meal is now sitting in the trash, and I’ve lost my appetite altogether.
The fried shrimp tasted alarmingly off. They were soft and had a spoiled taste, suggesting they had been left sitting for far too long. Fresh seafood has a certain bounce and crispness, and this sadly missed the mark entirely. The macaroni and cheese was even more underwhelming; it had the consistency of processed Velveeta and lacked any of the creamy, homemade appeal one would hope for. Lastly, the candied yams were a sugary, hard mess, with no tenderness or balance in flavor—just cloying sweetness and an unpleasant texture.
Establishments like this shouldn’t put out glossy, carefully staged photos if they can’t even come close to delivering on taste and quality. As a customer, I feel misled, and I’m left with a lingering aftertaste that honestly makes me want to rinse my mouth out. We had a catered Mother’s Day celebration food order from them. Everyone loved the food. Mr. Brown, thank you for being so kind and accommodating with the menu. The chicken, ribs, and yams were delicious. We often order food from there when we visit our in-laws…you guys never fail to disappoint us.

Not going to lie I had doubts about this spot but my fiancée suggested it so we went anyway and I was actually satisfied so it’s def worth the review so here to we go!
The drinks hit heavy, Glad we took an Uber there that’s for sure.
The food was on point, the pork ribs may not be falling off the bone but that type of cook takes a lot of time and effort so very understandable. The beef ribs on the other hand did break apart so easily and were juicy. The Bake Mac was delicious just as much as all the other sides. We even ordered an additional plate of pulled pork and even that was slamming.
I would suggest adding hand wipes for sticky fingers.

Her name is Annie and the level of professionalism and customer service she provides is above and beyond!!! The food is fresh and fast and tasty but if you like to drink a cold beverage with your meal, if you like a little kick in your punch, then Annie is the lady to make your cocktails!!!! She’s simply the best!!! Her personality enhances the experience you will have when dining there. Highly recommended!!!

Great food , even better drink . I got a bit tipsy with one drink , the food is so delicious . I like the fact you could pick two side dishes … the corn bread is soft and taste good . The seating here is great , plenty tables ,only time I had to really wait was for Valentine’s Day , but the service is good and the atmosphere has great vibes . It isn’t noisy and the food is great every time I go .

When I arrived, the guy asked what I wanted, so I ordered. Then he wanted payment. I thought that was odd. So I piad him. He told me to wait. I then said I’m here to sit down.” He seemed very obtuse and started laughing. i asked, “What is funny?” He pointed to his ears that were covered up from the towel that was on his head. So I sit down. He never speaks to me. Serves my food and takes off. Never gave me water. I never asked if I needed anything or if I was thirsty. VERY RUDE. VERY STRANGE. The ribs were average.

Good food! Them Pork ribs…. listen! They were delish!!! Seasoned perfectly then lathered with just the right amount of sauce. Sweet potatoes fries… you can’t go wrong. Everything was good!!! When back in town, we’ll be back.

We came by because our bnb host recommended the place. Amazing food, smoked beef brisket was outstanding . Portion was more than enough, atmosphere was relax and calm, service very attentive. Come if you ever be around of Queens. Extremely recommended.
