Located in the Canyon Crest Towne Centre at Canyon Crest Dr & Central Ave (near the KFC). Plenty of parking and a welcoming atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating.
The moment I saw “BBQ” on the menu, I was hooked. I ordered the ‘BBQ Bowl with Mac n’ Cheese, Smoked Brisket, Fried Onions, and BBQ sauce’ and it was phenomenal. The brisket was incredibly tender and delicious, just as good as what I had in Texas. Everything about my meal was excellent. A great bonus: they offer beer, which pairs perfectly with the meal.
The service was friendly and welcoming. Plus, they’re incredibly pet-friendly; furry companions receive a complimentary doggie patty! I’m already planning my next visit to sample more of their menu.

There is a reason I generally do not give tips on take out. The cashiers/servers were too lost in their conversation to notice I was ready to order and they were too eager to get back to gossip. I was asked what sauce I want, mild, medium or hot. I said medium and received none. Food was great, just don’t tip for takeout. If dining in, reward good service if warranted. I cannot get my tip back.

I came to Smoke and Fire with my brother while I was visiting him in Riverside. The store itself is clean, somewhat spacious, and has plenty of seating. They were pretty busy when I came in and seemed slightly understaffed, but it was clear the workers were hustling.

My brother ordered a 1/2 pound of smoked brisket and I ordered the 3 chicken tenders, two medium and one hot. My brother got a lager and I got a a soda cup, and got Diet Coke.

The brisket had a great tasting bark and was juicy, but it was super fatty, to the point that like 1/4 of it was hard to eat. The chicken tenders were really good overall, only a couple tiny parts of them were chewy, and the seasoning was pretty good. You get a decent portion for the price as well, so the pricing is on point.

Overall, Smoke and Fire gets 4/5 stars. It’s definitely good, and although it’s not the best BBQ, it’s still a worthwhile, tasty deal for the price point.

What are the first things I noticed about this place was the extensive menu, it was hard to pick something! Highly recommend the brisket fries, massive portion of fries with delicious barbecue sauce and smoked brisket on top. The chicken sandwich had this ginormous chicken breast on it, everything was made fresh quickly and a nice little place where you can eat inside or out. Definitely family-friendly and unique. Would definitely go again. The brisket sandwich was a little bit on the small side and a little disappointing but overall food was fresh, prepared well and an enjoyable place to go have lunch.

We had initially planned on going to KFC for dinner but smelled the BBQ from the parking lot and decided to give it a try. The food was average. When we got ready to order we waited for about 5 minutes at the register. Several employees passed us but never greeted us or told us “We’ll be right with you”. When an employee finally came she never said sorry for the wait or greeted us, just said “what can I get you”

It took about 15 minutes to get our food, 2 smash burgers and 2 brisket grilled cheese with brisket fries and an order of hot Cheetos Macaroni Balls. For starters, the smash burger was actually smashed, bun and all. It was heavily salted and peppered; oddly just in the center of the patties. It was Okay, but did not have much taste. The macaroni balls were hard as a rock and it was even harder to cut them with the flimsy plastic utensils they provided.

Moving on to the brisket grilled cheese. Not sure what to say except they were loaded with BBQ sauce that finished the flavor of the cheese and tasted like a plain brisket sandwich.

The best item by far were the brisket fries but get them without the cilantro. The sweet pickles are a bit overwhelming and the two do not go together.

Overall, we had a decent meal. The cost for 4 people with soda drinks was about $120.00. A bit pricey for the mediocre food quality. I would honestly say that I have had better BBQ at Famous Dave’s and Dickey’s BBQ.

The atmosphere was decent. They have a large dinning room and an outdoor patio. Seating was not an issue even for a Friday night. Would I eat there again, probably not.

Food and service were great. Only thing I didn’t understand was their pricing. 1 Brisket Taco was $3.50. An order of 3 Brisket Tacos was $13.99. The math was not mathing there. 3×3.50 = 10.50 not 13.99. If anything I would think they would reduce the price for buying more not raise it. That’s only reason for not giving this review 5☆s.
