If I lived closer to Smoak I’d honestly be there at least once a week. The owner, Bear, is super nice and is truly invested in providing the community a superior product. I had a combo platter with brisket, pulled pork, beans, mac and cheese, and a cornbread waffle. Everything was spectacular and the portions were sizable. Bear explained that he smokes meats in-house daily and makes all the sides and condiments from scratch. I didn’t get to try it but I was intrigued by the smoked ketchup.

The owner here is an all around great guy who loves to feed people, and it shows! We walked in and he immediately helped us and helped us decide on our meal.
Probably the absolute best BBQ I have ever had.

The pork burnt ends were fantastic. Great place. The owner was so friendly. We tried just about everything. The kielbasa was amazing, and the brisket was spot on. We will be back to try the pulled pork and the homemade sauces.

This place is hands down some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had! The smoked brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the ribs had the perfect balance of smoky and savory, and the creamy mac and cheese made an excellent side dish.
On top of the incredible food, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the owner Robert, is an incredibly humble and hospitable person who provides an exceptional service.

Absolutely stellar bbq. We need a couple great bbq places near Scranton and this is one of them. Haven’t had a bad meal here yet. Ribs, brisket, pulled pork is always on point. Bear runs a great operation. Pay him a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

The food was fantastic. It was the best BBQ I have ever tasted! The pulled pork was incredible. The others in my party had the Mac and cheese bowl with pulled pork and brisket. They said theirs were delicious, too. The cornbread was out of this world. It was a fantastic experience.

I have so much to say about Smoak!! I’ll start by saying I was born and raised in Kansas City. Every time i Have Smoak it is like a little taste of back home, even though his BBQ is Nashville inspired. It is seasoned, smoked, and cooked to perfection. His creativity and love for his craft is really shown through the flavor, menu, and specials. My husband and I enjoy his food so much it is a regular thing for us to call him up about once every other week for our favorite go tos, or whatever special he posts and gets our stomach rumbling. In fact, we enjoy smoak so much that we had him cater for our wedding rehearsal. We had a diverse crowd of picky eaters and everyone found something they not liked, but loved! A couple more things to appreciate are the affordable prices, the taste tests he gives out, his excellent customer service, and lastly; the fact that he is a one man show! (Unless you’re lucky enough to stop in on a rare day here or there that his amazing gem of a mother is there to help)

That “570” review down below me is delusional and entitled…Smoak impressed me so much a few weeks ago I had to leave a rebuttal to that apathetic review!
First off…small business owners can get extremely busy…be understanding and kind.
After a very long, busy day working in the yard I decided to take a chance on ordering a whole lot of BBQ online for pickup. When I arrived everything was packaged up but the brisket…the owner kindly let us know he just had to get the brisket for us then proceeded to cut and pack it up while we waited chatting a bit with us as he did so. VERY friendly and personable…took the time to ask if we liked some fat on our brisket or lean…we decided on a bit of both and he delivered.
The BBQ was delicious! Sides were also very yummy but I was partial to the brisket! I’ve also followed his business page on Facebook for a while now where I’ve noticed he is very transparent about everything he does which makes me want to support this small business more! Can’t wait to get my hands on some more of that amazing brisket! Thank-you!
