I had heard about this place for a long time. So I was happy to finally get to try it out. I had the whiskey burger, which had an onion ring and whiskey sauce. There was barely enough sauce in it to try. I did not ask for extra. The burger was well done, which I would prefer more of medium well (still not a deal breaker for this place). The fries seemed like they were fresh. Several old school restaurants have these same kind. I saw a lot off people getting desserts from the front as they were checking out. So we decided to try one out. The cookies are huge.

Everything to had good taste. My only problem was my cat fish. I ordered one piece. The piece I got was like a baby catfish the meat was about a quarter inch thick . Only a few thin bites in the middle of the fish when I saw the plates on other tables. Their fish were twice as big expecting a whole catfish which I got but it was half the size. I should’ve sent it back, but I was in a rush and hungry. The cookies were great.

My husband and I planned a day trip to Strong Point and I said I wanted to get breakfast on the way. I purposely chose a small-town diner instead of a corporate store like IHOP but I left disappointed. I saw they had chicken and waffles as their special so I ordered that and the waitress said it was bone-in chicken (?) so I asked for tenders instead, but she said they didn’t have any sauce (no ranch or honey mustard that’s used for dinner?). Maybe it’s my fault for expecting Belgian waffles but they seem like they could have been frozen just moments before. We waited at least 20 minutes for our food even though it didn’t appear to be so busy that people were waiting to be seated or anything. My husband got the two-egg omelet with sausage and said it didn’t have much taste. My meal tasted fine, it just didn’t taste like it was made in-house is all.

Passing through the area, when I saw this place. What the heck. Just as I expected. It was absolutely delightful. Friendly faces with quaint country atmosphere is what I love and smitty’s delivered. Fantastic food. Absolutely the best prices I have experienced in a long time. Kinda makes me ill that I don’t live closer. If you get a chance stop in. I’m sure you will love it.
