Good old fashioned home style cooking, at a great price. Cafeteria style line where you serve yourself. Lot’s of choices, including vegetables, meats, salads, and desserts. Nothing fancy, just clean, and adequate. Good tea, and the fried chicken is locally famous. I have been there many times over many years, and it is always good.

Their Wednesday fried shrimp are the bomb. The buffet is always southern good. The owner, Joyce, is a true southern Belle, just as sweet and kind as she can be to all who visit. Everybody should try Smith’s Fried Chicken. My husband, David, says it’s the best fried chicken in this part of the country.

Headed home after a great overnight away, searching for a nice place for a little supper. Had some bad experiences in this town. Found this diner. Customer just leaving stated food was great, best chicken in town. Second statement probably true, unfortunately, since there isn’t much to choose from in this town! Great food? It tasted ok. Typical buffet food with an attempt at down home country cooking, but COLD!! Shredded bbq had been on bar for a while and was seriously dried up. Fish fillets tasted ok and were warm but beginning to dry out. One dessert choice: crumbles of cake with whipped cream and old strawberries, all getting mighty dry. Only redeeming item was fresh fried chicken being put out as we came in. NOT the best I’ve ever had but, again, probably the best in town, and it was hot. We love checking out the “mom and pop” restaurants as we travel and have never been “burned”. Almost happened this time.

There was a long wait on the food. The restaurant is supposed to close at 9 o clock. The workers were pouring bleach on the floor before it ever got to be 8 o clock. I would not come back here and do not recommend anyone else coming either unless you want to here the workers argue with each other.

Great food. Haven’t been here in years. Went today and food was as good as I remember. Friendly service and fresh food.

It’s a shame when you pay $10 a plate to eat at a local restaurant that’s all you can eat buffet and you fix your plate, sit down and start eating and next thing you know they are closing down the buffet. Throwing food in trash. Five men came in to eat and they turned them away. That’s $50 they lost in sales. There are no signs anywhere saying what time they close down the buffet. They didnt inform us they were fixing to close down the buffet so we could go back before they dumped it all in trash. I asked one of the workers and she told me that they take bar down at 8:00pm and close at 9:00. If I’m going to do business with you, I should have been respected enough to let be informed the bar was coming down in case I wanted to go back. Be respectful to your customers.

Food is marginal at best. If you like can food, then this is your restaurant. Fried chicken was hot, but begs for seasoning. Oh! The “Dinty Moore” beef stew was terrible!!! Only one desert too! I can’t describe it, just yellow gel stuff with cool whip.

This is my favorite place for country food in the Reidsville area. In my opinion, lunch has better food than supper, but that distinction is based on an opinion. Their catered meals are A+++.
