Sanitation Grade: 91 on Oct 19,2025. Come on you can do better! We were surprised when we picked up our to go order & saw the low sanitation grade. Employees were very nice. Barbq was good. Chicken was good. Potato salad swimming in mayonnaise. Hush puppies good but honey butter would be awesome. Brunswick stew- fantastic! Get your score up! YALL draw a big crowd! Their drinks with the baby crushed ice are the best!!!!

Update #3, gave them another try this time using the gift card I was sent. Went into the store and was greeted by a very nice young lady. The sandwiches were a good bit larger this time and of course they tasted great. Thank you Smithfield’s for caring about your customers!
Update #2.. the district manager was very nice and apologized for the service and sent me a gift card. Next time I am in whiteville I will try again and hopefully have a better experience…Updated review… decided to give them another try and this time got 3 BBQ sandwiches which was $20… the size of this sandwich is as small as the bottom of a water bottle!!! Do better Smithfield’s… I definitely won’t be back again!!! See below for 1st review..Talk about SHRINKFLATION!! Fair warning if you order hush puppies and expect to get the same size as before you will be disappointed!! This was a DOZEN!!! And the butter was almost bigger than a hush puppy!

Smithfield’s as a whole is one of the most consistent chains out there! They always have a clean restaurant with great service and the flavors that you expect! I learned today that the BBQ is made daily and hand pulled every morning.

I ordered a barbecue plate for my takeout meal. Everything was really good. My favorite parts were the baked beans and potato salad, which were made to perfection. The portions were generous. The only suggestion I might have is to upgrade the bun.

I went in October 30,2025 that night the food is really good the other thing was the lady in charge was literally yelling at the other workers in front of customers not just once but, more then once. I feel like if you have an issue with coworker then you need to pull them to the side or wait til the place closes.
