I m from eastern NC and now live in Virginia. This Smithfield’s in Nashville has always treated me wonderfully. They pack my food great because they know I am traveling with it back to VA. It has ways been great and I have received amazing service there always. The staff has been friendly and taken great care of me. The best Brunswick stew in eastern NC. Now for all you people who want to give a bad review to this restaurant, every place can have a bad day. And to the travelers who said the bbq is vinegary. Well welcome to eastern NC bbq. It is supposed to be that way. Thank you to this Smithfield’s for always treating this Carolina girl well

We were driving back to Va and stopped for lunch. What a wonderful little restaurant. ALL EMPLOYEES WERE SO KIND! The food was fast fresh and delicious. The young man who took out order was kind and inviting. I would recommend.

On average food and service is good. Recommend the drive through over cary out. My order was overlooked for 10min after being prepared. It was left to sit. It was passed over because they were taking the orders to the dining room.

We aren’t from North Carolina and wanted to try something that would exemplify Carolina BBQ. The pulled pork was vinegary as you’d expect from Carolina BBQ. It was tender and not smokey. I give it a b for a grade. The shrimp were very shrimpy in size, lightly breaded and gently fried. They were still very tender and tasty with cocktail sauce. The hush puppies were the star of the meal. Shaped like little sausages, they were crisp and had good flavor. Service was very nice for a very crowded Sunday lunch time. The fried Chicken had the texture of KFC original fried Chicken, but didn’t have overly strong flavors. If you like the strong flavors of Cajun style fried chicken joints like Bojangles or Popeyes, this won’t fit the bill. But if you like crispy chicken that is wholesome and good in its own right, you might like this.

Paid $12 for a combo plate of BBQ and fried chicken. . BBQ was cold, the serving of BBQ looked like it was for a child’s plate. Chicken was half cooked. Disgusting.

Restaurant had just gotten over a busy spell. Many tables were cleaned but food wiped from tables right on to the seats.
