Can I first tell you that I am so full? All I eat was the value pack which is a barbecue sandwich with french fries and I had a Diet Coke. And I feel like I’m stuffed. Why? Because this place gives you great value for your money. There was plenty of barbecue on the sandwich and I’m almost gonna say more than plenty french fries in my order. The cashier was attentive and pleasant to deal with and got my order correct. Now that seems like it should always be correct right however, many places you will go now that is not true. But this place absolutely true. He did not take long for the food to be prepared and delivered to my table. now I need to sleep. Because I’m so full!

We have been going to this SCNB for over 20 years and it used to be a great location. A lot of the food has really gone downhill in the last few yeas. The chicken many times is way to salty, many times the potato salad has almost raw potatoes in it, the sides are now put in tiny plastic cups so you get less and the majority of the time the barbeque is very dried out and has almost no taste. There have also been numerous times we have ordered an extra chicken leg to go with our plates, but we never get them. The times we have called about them the person answering could barely understand English and could not understand what we were trying to tell them, so we never got the chicken or our money back either.
Tonight we got a large shrimp plate, which was supposed to have 10 oz. of shrimp and two sides. The shrimp was lucky to be 5 oz., the sides were so small it wouldn’t be enough food for a three year old and we asked for tartar sauce, but did not get ANY. We also ordered two large drinks, supposed to be 44 oz. each, but our cups were only 2/3 filled! This is a pure rip-off when you pay almost $3.50 per large drink, but then the cup is only 2/3 filled!!
We have been loyal customers for a lot of years, but we will not remain customers considering how they are treating us.

My husband picked up dinner and we were super disappointed. I got the large BBQ plate and they gave me “double” fries even though my husband requested coleslaw as my second side. They gave me a single serving of fries and then instead of a side of coleslaw they gave us and charged us for a pint of coleslaw. My husband got the 2 thighs and fries and said the chicken tasted different than normal. The gallon of sweet tea tasted like cigarettes and we ended up dumping it. We will not be returning to this location.

Great place for a quick hearty meal. Loved the pulled pork and hush puppies. The coleslaw and Brunswick stew were great as well with lots of good flavor. Enjoyed the veggies in the stew. We came for a quick stop and had no problem getting our food right away on a Sunday mid afternoon. Check it out.

Ordered @ drive through. Speaker and mic was not very good, missed the first item I ordered. Had to add it at the window and wait.
There was a hole in the bottom of the large sweet tea, unnoticed, which filled my center console up before I could get home.
Person at window struggled with English.
And finally, opened the shrimp platter when I got home to find few shrimp and half of the small portion given was breading crumbs. Pretty disappointing. A picture is worth a 1000 words, see attached.

I received an immediate automated “canned” apology from Smithfield BBQ as soon as this review was posted. It was so quick, it was obviously automated. As they requested in the automated response, I followed up in more details to the email they provided. It has been 10 days now, no response to date. Now I am disappointed twice by lack luster customer service. Just like the lousy plate of food I opened, Smithfield BBQ upper management has proven to be equally lack luster and non responsive. It takes someone just a minute out of their busy work from home job, to read and respond to an email and they can’t even get that done.

Stopped in today for lunch. Found the place to be clean and in great shape. Good food and great service as always! I really enjoy the flavors they create with their BBQ Sandwich w/slaw!!! My wife said the chicken was super!!! They loaded us up on hush puppies also!!! Thanks folks!

It’s the best on this side of town! Food is always great and the people are very attentive. Price good too. They are closed Monday and Tuesday. Closed New Years Day. Happy New Year 2024. For the menu selection the prices are a bit high. The food is consistent and good. I don’t prefer their Brunswick stew, but my wife loves it. I just add hot sauce. It’s cool that the have a Tesla Charging Station considering how close this is to I-40.
