This place is not the same. My husband ordered one meatball sandwich. She gave us a hotdog instead. Hotdogs taste liked they were microwaved. We will not be going back.

It isn’t what it used to be but that is by no fault of the one woman who was alone in the place both taking and filling orders. She did a fantastic job. But why is she alone? Staff the place! Shout out to her because she was extremely friendly and apologetic. Food was close to being on par with the OG Smith Street. Stop cutting corners with staff!

If you’re looking for 4 star decor, you’re in the wrong place. This is a neighborhood eatery with a 50+ year old feel. I’m not a soft skin hot dog guy so I can’t rate those but I am a sausage or a meatball guy. Both of those selections are great with or without the hot sauce, pepper + onions. The price is right and the family staff are polite and courteous. If you’re a regular here you will get treated like one and not like a stranger.

This is a sandwich shop stuck in time. Walking in will transport you to the ambience, decor, and people that have clearly been here since the late 1970s.
Nothing here is remotely healthy, but it is reasonably tasty. Lots of meat in the Italian Combo. Prices are very reasonable. Recommended.

I don’t know how many details you can give about a hot dog place but these are the best. Any topping you could really want, plus delicious meatballs and sausage and peppers. I have been going there since I was a kid with my Dad (35 +years) and it’s like stepping back in time. Always delicious. Could use a facelift on the inside, but, that is what’s cool about it. It just doesn’t matter. Great place to have some dogs or even get them to go and drive down to the river and eat them. Great place.
