Smile Cafe is probably my favorite Thai restaurant in Philly. The food was amazing and very authentic, the service was attentive and sweet and the cafe was very intimate and relaxing. Perfect for a solo dining or a chill date night. Price was affordable!

Best thai food in the city, hands down. I have been going here for 10 years and I cannot find comfort thai food within Philadelphia that compares (and I know this because they are not open on Sundays so any Sunday I want to order thai, I order from other establishments). Their curries (especially Masaman) are incredible, as are their noodle dishes. We often take friends here and they have always been impressed. They are great with accommodating allergies too and their tofu dishes are beyond flavorful. You cannot beat the price and quality. The restaurant itself is also so cute and cozy for a BYO dinner. My only complaint is I wish they were open Sundays instead of Mondays! Love this place and will never be able to live without it <3

You have to order two items for two people, the owner was a bit rude and intimidating, not a budget choice. also have to tip at least 18%. Bit of high end behavior for a low budget resturant.
For food, nothing is fried, everything is steamed, may not be a good choice if you are looking for fried squid or Tofu. Food portion was good, quality I would say average.
Owner also claimed they would charge me 15% extra as my order was below 30$, you would be better off choosing other options around if you are looking for a budget thai restuant.

This is by far the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to! I’d rather drive into Philly than get Thai food in Delco any day. I have gone too many times to count and am always met with the best service and food! I recommend the calamari or squid appetizer. My go to entree is curry, but the crying fish, pineapple tilapia fish, and beef charcoal dishes are just as amazing (photos are green curry in front with crying fish in back and smile calamari)

We had a large group dinner here and all of us had a wonderful time. Thank you to the hosts for accommodating such a big group so last minute. Everyone (including people with very discerning palates) was impressed by the portions, flavors, and fantastic price point. (Pictured is the delicious tilapia with panang curry – huge slabs of chunky fish). The decor was cosy and inviting. Great little gem in Philly.

Very nice flavor with the curry. Highly recommended. Drunken noodle (same as spicy noddle) is okay. Chicken can sometimes be slightly tough but still okay, and sometimes perfect. Service is very friendly and hard working. Owner was careful about my allergies and double checked ingredients for me. The seating is limited to about 20 people – very small inside.

This was unfortunately the worst drunken noodles I’ve ever had. The flavor just wasn’t there, it seemed like they sprinkled chili powder and called it a day. The waitress also seemed to be rushing us while ordering though it was a fairly empty afternoon. The only redeeming factor was the thai iced tea which was good.
