Iced bun is actually iced, like a donut. I don’t know why but I thought from the description it was fancy chef speak for being covered in melted cheese. It was good tho.

I visited here today with my son and his mate after a visit to the aquarium. First and foremost, the service is faultless, the guys in there were so helpful and helped us through the menu as it was our first visit. The burgers were amazing (definitely better than Zephyr) and evidently great quality and the chef was pleased to know that the lads gave them a 9.5 and I agreed that we’d definitely be back. Nice one Smashland.

Had my first Smashlands today, FINALLY, as I’ve been meaning to for ages. Honestly the tastiest burger I’ve ever had. The patties are meaty but with that awesome crispy finish, the bread is toasted perfectly, and the fillings were amazing. I think mine was called the P&L? My granddaughter had just a junior plain burger with cheese and ketchup, which I had a bite of (as she’s 2 years old and it was MASSIVE) Even the Junior was fantastic. Great value for money – beats Five Guys hands down, not even a close contest. Their menu is very imaginative, and apparently changes fairly often with new ideas. I can’t wait to try the one with Stilton next; then the Biscoff burger, which sounds right up my alley. I will be returning on a regular basis as they are now my favourite takeaway/burger joint. The staff were VERY friendly, service was quick, food is great quality, and they have plenty of comfortable seating, including outdoors WITH HEATING! I cannot recommend Smashlands enough, go and find them down on the Wharf at the Barbican – you will not be sorry.

Starting with a friendly welcome by the staff into the great atmosphere, we were really impressed with the vibe of the place. For a small restaurant, it certainly has a big personality that you cant miss. We managed to get the main indoor seating alcove and enjoyed the music and smells of all the food being cooked, which was a great precursor to the food coming out. Everything we had tasted even better than it smelt!
There are some bold choices on the menu which are a step away from a normal burger menu, but none of them disappointed. A mad mix of sweet and savoury but everything was incredible quality and portion sizes are bang on too.
Customer service was top notch too from both the blokes working there, all around topping off a great experience!

Visited this evening with my 3 children. The burgers were amazing , probably best we have had in Plymouth. The staff were very friendly and attentive. My daughter is Gluten Free so they were able to accommodate (I supplied the burgen bun). Will definitely visit again.

I am really impressed. The burger was bloody brilliant, I got the real mccoy and I will need time to burn it off but I want to go back. It was like artwork, who I am assuming is the owner was telling a new chef how to melt the cheese and it was clear he has a vision for his food and he cares about how it’s served, and it shows. You need to try this place at least once. Reasonably priced compared to other eateries in Plymouth.
