I worked with Jill on specialty birthday cakes for our girls and we were so happy with how they turned out. Jill was so patient with me and always kind, courteous and proactive over the phone and in person. She really helped bring my vision to life. We ordered a strawberry cake as well as a 1/2 chocolate & 1/2 vanilla combo sheet cake and all 3 were moist and delicious 🙂

Oh, my goodness! What an amazing job Smallcakes did with a wedding cake I ordered. It was the perfect cake for our woodland’s wedding. It was like a piece of art — and was delicious, too. Friday @ 6:55 PM with the “OPEN” sign lit up. Prime time to make a quick sale as a small business.. Nope, doors locked. I didn’t make it back to my car before the owner turned off the lights. Maybe you saw someone trying to buy what you’re selling, but you wanted to peace out a few minutes early instead? It was quite the coincidence. I’ve stopped more times at this place without buying something than I’ve left with anything because they only make specific cupcakes on the days they choose, and now apparently don’t bother sticking to the hours they post on their own door.
We should support small businesses and will continue to do so with this one, but charging your customers $5.00 per cupcake when you can’t keep your doors open during business hours is a little concerning. And, reading other reviews on here gives me the idea I’m not the only one who has had a poor experience with this one particular employee (owner). Increased prices call for better service – it’s a little off balance here.

I am seriously blown away. I ordered a cat themed cake for my daughter’s birthday. I asked for some cat faces, maybe some paw prints… that was it! What I got was this amazing and delicious work of art!! I couldn’t be happier with the result. I definitely recommend Smallcakes in Tyler! They are artists!!

Absolutely amazing gluten free cupcakes. They’re a normal size too. Most gluten free cupcakes come about half the size of a normal cupcake, and are dry and unappealing. There is no gluten FOMO here. I have never gotten sick after eating one either. They rotate the flavors out, but so far my absolute favorite was the gluten free pineapple upside down cake.

If you’re hoping for great customer service, this location might not be the best choice. We came in after a rough day, and I was looking forward to getting a cupcake, something that usually lifts my spirits. Unfortunately, we were greeted by a clerk who appeared disinterested and didn’t acknowledge us when we spoke. Another older staff member noticed us but walked to the back without saying a word. I’ve always enjoyed visiting Smallcakes, but this experience was disappointing enough to make me reconsider returning. Perhaps the consistently empty parking lot is a reflection of others feeling the same way.

Fantastic cupcakes! We bought a dozen in multiple flavors. They have signature flavors that are available all the time and daily specials. When they run out of a specific flavor, it’s gone, so don’t expect them to have everything available all day. All of the flavors tasted amazing. A great treat.

Highly recommend Smallcakes Tyler! They made my cake and cupcakes for my wedding. Jilyssa was amazing to work with captured what I wanted perfectly. Everyone commented on how great the cakes tasted. There were a few cupcakes left, and they tasted fresh days later.
