Onto my negatives with this business. If you have cake inspiration, you’ll have to email it or show it to an employee as the order form is slightly broken. I could not submit a photo no matter how many times I attempted. When I received my order form back via email to confirm everything the bakery had put down, they included an image of my detailed cake design (see images). Everything was perfect, so I confirmed.
After paying for the cake, that was the last communication I had until I got a call to confirm my pickup time. Perfect, everything was good. Upon arriving at the bakery (a day before my birthday), I waited in the lobby for almost 5 minutes before someone finally came out. I could tell they didn’t know I was there by the lady’s surprise seeing me. She apologized and said that she and her coworkers were having conversation in the back. Okay…maybe add a bell to the counter for customers, but no biggie. The staff were very sweet and the in-person service was the best thing out of my experience.
However, when my cake was brought out I noticed it was no where near the same color I had requested. The details were also slightly sloppy. I requested the phrase “19 and still fly” and instead of using an ‘a’ for “and” they used a ‘q’ or upside down ‘b’ (see images). The top and sides of the cake weren’t smoothed over so the cake looked melted. The only thing that resembled what was on the order form was the vintage heart style/shape and the white drop lines on the sides. The cake was supposed to be used for a photo shoot and party theme and it did not match in the slightest.
I let the color go since I had no time to have it redone. I was bummed that I paid for all my activities thinking the cake would be perfect and it wasn’t. The other cakes on their website and reviews got my expectations up.
The next day, when I went to cut the cake, I immediately noticed that my raspberry filling was what appeared to be jam (I could be incorrect) and the filling was EXTREMELY limited. It was literally a thin line (see images). Once I cut slices off for my family & I, we barely tasted the raspberry, because despite having big slices, there was not enough filling to compensate for the sheer amount of icing. The cake was 70% icing 20% cake and 10% filling. The icing was overly sweet and the vanilla was also not super present.
I reached out to the company via email on two separate occasions sine February 4th and it is now the 10th with zero response, after getting a response within 24hrs prior to cake pickup.
Overall, this was not worth $105 and my experience is a 3/5. I would only recommend a cake from here if it’s a very basic design and flavor or if you’d just like cupcakes.
