After wrapping up a recruiting event, we stopped by Smack Noodle for a quick bite. We spent $36+ on two green teas, a Cha-Shu pork rice bowl, a Smack Bun, scallion pancakes, and an avocado salad, which felt reasonably priced overall.
The avocado salad and Smack Bun stood out in terms of flavor, while the rest of the dishes unfortunately fell below average. Service was attentive and efficient (having only 2 other diners in the restaurant likely helped).
Not a bad spot for a one-off visit. If we return, we’d likely focus on the noodles, which seem to be the heart of the menu.

Food here is pretty decent. Takoyaki tastes very authentic and probably one of the better options, good amount of octopus with not a lot of batter. Tonkatsu ramen is decent, but nothing special. Pad Thai is okay, but not overwhelmingly great.

Smack Noodle is a gem! It’s a small spot, but the food & service are fantastic! Highly recommend the Thai iced tea, smack bun, & miso ramen. They even have a good sushi menu. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area!

All dishes we orders are simply delicious. Bold flavor! I need to go back for more, now!

The quality of the food for the price you are paying is top notch. Best spicy tuna roll I’ve ever had and the tonkatsu ramen was outstanding as well. Very friendly staff and cute little spot

I love walking down here for a quick gari roll or a full meal. The udon garlic noodles with crispy chicken is incredible, too. I’ve eaten here a few times and it hasn’t disappointed yet. Extremely friendly service and fun atmosphere, too.

What a gem of a spot deep in suburban Massachusetts. Salmon nigiri was thick cut, generous portion, and buttery; shattered my perception of what you can usually expect from a non-dedicated sushi spot. The noodle dishes are delicious; and the Japanese curry (ask for it spicy) is among the best I’ve had. My only critique is that the chicken katsu was a bit over-done and a little chewy. The quality of everything at this place in general in combination with their very fair pricing more than makes up for that. Smack Noodle basically a must-hit if I’m ever in the area, and it’s worth the road trip out to Maynard too even if you’re not.

One of my favorite food spots in town! Their Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Crazy Noodles are my personal favorite noodle dishes. As apps, their Smack Bun, Gyoza, and Scallion Pancakes are delicious! Their sushi is awesome. And my wife and I also love to get their Thai Iced Tea! Most of all, they are all so kind and such good people

First time ordering from here. Made online order and was so disappointed. The avocado salad looked nothing like how it’s pictured on their website (shaved long pieces) instead everything was chopped. The sushi looked so sad and nothing like the website photo. All food was just okay. Not great.

Fantastic service and a really solid bowl of miso ramen.
Perfect comfort food when it’s chilly, has the right amount of savory, salty and fatty but the chashu pork is a bit underwhelming. Pork bun was ok but pork maybe isn’t this joint’s strong suit. Everything else is really good.
