It was my first time here with my fiancé! What a lovely place!!
Food was stellar and the service really topped it off for us. Easily going to become our brunch staple.
Aidan and Sal were so kind and helpful, it really felt like such a lovely relaxed environment for us to hangout with no pressure to turn the table. It’s busy even closer to 1pm, but you’re able to still find a seat.

We tried the Bestest Sandwich and the Grits n Greens bowl. They were so so good! I’m a sucker for biscuits and pimento. It hit the spot!

Thanks to the lovely service staff there who truly made such a lovely brunch even better.

Writing this review before I’ve even left yet, it’s just that good. Food is fantastic, the breakfast sandwich I ordered was the best I’ve ever had. The coffee is really good, and the donuts taste amazing and aren’t too sweet. Almost everything in the menu has vegan or gluten free options.

The staff are incredibly friendly, and all wearing KN95 masks which is so so important. Pronoun and name tags on everyone.

All waste is composted or recycled if it can be, very environmentally conscious. The bathroom is clean and well stocked and kept up, and it didn’t require awkwardly asking for a code to enter – it’s just a door.

It’s everything I’d have ever wanted in a restaurant. It’s perfect and I cannot wait to come back again someday.

As a Celiac I am always looking for a place that has gluten free sandwiches. Smack Dab delivered! I got the cranberry chutney sandwich and it was delicious, and a decent size to fill me up. Hit the spot! I will definitely come back. They also labeled my order, so I felt comfortable knowing they took my allergy seriously. The staff were super friendly and even though I didn’t stay to eat, I think I would like to in the future. Good vibes. Thanks!

Super friendly atmosphere.

Went on a Saturday morning and it was busy but the staff was still very efficient and the food came out quickly.

The best seller was absolutely delicious. Not too heavy, this would be my go to every time.

Biscuit and gravy were very good as well. Solid portion size and the eggs were a nice addition.

Great food, friendly staff – Go and support this restaurant

Diner vibes that are welcoming for all diets. Had the gluten free cheesy herb cornbread classic Sammie with onion jam and I will find it challenging to try anything else. This sandwich hits all the comfy feels… Especially with the sweater weather latte. Worth the drive… Especially on a Wednesday!

This is genuinely the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Everyone was so welcoming and seemed passionate about their jobs and the food they serve, and even gave us some free donut samples! They have vegan and vegetarian options, and their food has so much flavor. I also got a matcha and it was so delicious without being too sweet. I’ll definitely be coming back!

What a gem!!! Staff was super kind, welcoming, and helpful. I have celiac and they assured me of how careful they are with allergies. Had a delicious sandwich— truly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had— and coffee— cannot wait to go back! Highly recommend coming from all corners of Chicago!!

I had the honor of living and thriving in this neighborhood when Smack Dab was an occasional pop up. I was BLESSED to live a block away when they opened the restaurant. I moved away and missed it every day. Finally got to come back and everything is just as I remembered it. The vibes? Immaculate. The staff? Incredible. The food? Unparalleled. It is one of the safest spaces in Chicago and returning today felt like coming home. ❤️

We had an impromptu brunch here and love a good shaded patio. They were okay with pets and the food came out quick. We ordered for two ppl and got Golden chai, Salted Carmel latte, The bestest sandwich, and The best sandwich all for $47. They have GF/Veg options available and overall the food was seasoned well and the eggs were fluffy. Plenty of parking options and seating inside and out. Would recommend!
