S’MAC opened its doors in 2006 and was the first ever restaurant to be devoted exclusively to mac & cheese. The idea behind S’MAC was to elevate macaroni & cheese from a perennial side dish to the status of a meal in and of itself. When we first conceived of the idea, we believed that it could grow into something much larger than a single restaurant. Little did we know that upon opening our doors, we would be transformed from an unknown, small, edgy East Village restaurant to a high-traffic, high-volume restaurant with a cult following.
Customizable, vegan, and gluten-free mac ’n’ cheese is the specialty of this small storefront cafe.

Mac n‘cheese is such a delish dish. I truly enjoy it, in all forms and combinations.
S‘Mac doesn’t disappoint. We had the sampler, which features 8 different types of Mac n’cheese. We also ordered the Philly Cheese steak version. All of them were excellent.
S’Mac is all about choice. Pick a size, type of noodle – gluten free available, cheese combinations, vegetables, and meat. So many combinations.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They definitely made us feel welcome.
I really liked the basil version. Can’t wait to go back.

Amazing Mac and cheese!! I ordered takeout and got the All American Mac and cheese and it was delicious! The Mac and cheese was soft and flavorful and the top had bits of crispy breadcrumbs — a perfect combination! There’s a kiosk where you can place your order. There’s indoor and outdoor seating, and the interior is very cozy! I will definitely come back to try their other Mac and cheese’s! Highly recommend this place if you’re hungry and ever craving for delicious Mac and cheese!!

The buffalo chicken i got was very salty, had to take a sip of water every time i took a bite. 2/10
Custom one was better 5/10
Also, they charged my girlfriend’s card twice, one for something we didn’t order. Had to dispute that afterwards with chase since they couldn’t do anything about it. Very disappointed experience.

I enjoy writing positive reviews, but unfortunately, my dish at S’MAC lacked flavor, so I cannot recommend it. I highly recommend, however, Jacob’s Pickles. Their Midnight Mac & Cheese is a delectable culinary delight with a slight kick.

If you’re in the mood for next level mac and cheese, look no further than S’MAC. I recently visited and tried their sampler, and it was nothing short of amazing! It is the perfect way to experience a variety of what S’MAC has to offer. Every mac was creamy, indulgent, and packed with flavor. From the classic 4 cheese mac and cheese that’ll remind you of the childhood favorite, to more adventurous options like the Alpine, which had Gruyere cheese and generous chunks of slab bacon. Every bite was pure comfort, but my personal favorites were the Parisienne (Brie, Mushrooms, Rosemary and Fig) and La Mancha (Manchego, Fennel, Onions) for not just their flavor but also for their unique flavors that I would’ve never thought to put together in such a dish. The mac itself was perfectly cooked—chewy yet soft pasta with just the right amount of cheese. I especially loved how they mix things up with toppings and seasonings that really set each dish apart. The portions were generous, too, which made the sampler a great value. The vibe is super casual and welcoming. The staff were friendly and professional. If you’re a mac & cheese enthusiast or just craving something comforting, definitely check this place out. You won’t regret getting the sampler, but trust me when I say you can’t go wrong with any of them.

This spot really surprised me. You walk in, place your order at a touchscreen (super handy, no lines or pressure), and then just wait for a pot of mac & cheese to arrive, perfectly cooked!
What I liked most is the flexibility: you can stick with the classic cheesy version, try it with meat, or even go for gluten-free or vegan. Prices are fair too.

Was very filling. A ton of choices to choose from. I do highly recommend. Lots of flavor and worth the price. I wanted to try the samples from reading other reviews but couldn’t pass up my normal mix ins. Maybe would suggest less breadcrumbs
