Wanted to try something new, so a friend and I went there for lunch she had chicken nachos and they were so horrible she asked if she could send them back and substitute 2 chicken street tacos instead , they said okay, (considering the nachos were around $17.00!) and about 5 minutes later she got her tacos. They were just as bad as the Nachos. So we decided to cut our losses and leave and just not come back they never asked how things were or anything, we didn’t ask for any price break for compensating the meal but when we were leaving they stopped us at the door and demanded for us to pay for the two tacos that were also inedible! Forget it! I will never be back or have any friend try it!! Too expensive for food on the tip of spoilage! Sorry!

Decent Carne asada tacos. The meat was good quality.

There was a funky, off-putting smell in the restaurant, though, which doesn’t foster confidence in the food.

A salsa bar would be a great idea as well as fountain drinks.

Holy moly, probably the best Mexican food I’ve had in CA since we moved to San Diego in 2010 (now in Nor Cal). Hints of flavors I’ve only had in Central and Southern Mexico, I was in heaven. I want to eat here all the time.

Love this place, all I have to say is that when you see fellow Hispanic people eating a Mexican place, you know it’s good.

If there were minus stars, I would give them minus thousand of stars.
I ordered food to go. My daughter order food also… A young lady took our order. I made sure to tell her over and over that we were vegetarians by choice and by religious belief and asked her to double check everything. I made it clear to her to make sure no meat, seafood, or the egg product in our food. She ensure me that the our order will not contain any meat or egg product. After waiting for a while, we got our order, which contained some sort of pickles. Upon questioning, we were told that the pickles were pork skin pickles. Once bringing to young lady’s attention, she told us that, they DO NOT consider pork skin as meat. Well, she was adamant that pork skin was not meat. After going back and forth for a few minutes, young lady and two ladies in the back pretended like they spoke Spanish not English. We got our money back and left the food at their counter.
We asked for the owner’s name and the telephone, which they refused to give to us.
I am filing a complaint with better business bureau.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE, AVOID THIS PLACE, AND DEFINITELY THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN.

An authentic Taqueria! Good food with some of the best Carne asada I’ve had. All foods are reasonably/competitively priced. Small “eat in” area but it was enough for everyone when we were there. Give it a try and make sure you have enough time to enjoy it. Small kitchen so be patient. My wife and I tried 4 different items and we will be back.

A young kid took our order. Friendly little guy. Well some how our order got misplaced. We weren’t upset at all. Things happen. We had even already tipped them. It was an hour before they closed and they told us everything had to be to go only. We were even ok with that. We noticed they had to take things out because they were already mostly cleaned up for closing. They must have thought we were mad because our order took so long. But really we were fine with waiting. And besides it was Valentines Day. We are pretty understanding people. So we get home and my food was barely warm. My boyfriend ate half of his Burrito Bowl and noticed someone had SPIT in his food! I’m beyond mortified and disgusted! Horrible experience.

Awesome little taqueria! The staff is super friendly and they have a great selection of tacos. Bonus points for having chicharrones tacos. They have some really good non-taco options as well, highlights include their tostadas and the takilocos!

Not sure how this restaurant has an above 4 rating. I tried the burrito bowl and the chicken was dry and seasoned with herbs, garlic and pepper seasoning. I found it strange for grilled chicken that is suppose to be seasoned with Latin flavors. The beans had no flavor. The rice was orange yet lacked flavor. The chips were hard and the salsa was watered down and flavorless. I love Mexican food as I am Latina. The only thing Latin here was the decor, the staff and the name of the restaurant. I left with an upset stomach.

This is an awesome addition to Placerville. It’s nice to see a new place coming in and especially a Taqueria with a unique menu.
