I was in town on business and we met for diner at Slows. First time there and it felt warm and very inviting. Our group was seated once everyone arrived.

I ordered “The Favorite” which had a little bit of everything. It was very flavorful and the portions were good. The meat was tender and juicy, and the variety of sauces gave you difference taste profiles to enhance your meal. Paired with an Old Fashion and a Soft Drink, it was a wonderful dinner.

Slows is a place you should try and experience. For lunch or dinner, you can’t go wrong. My experience was great and will make it one of my go to’s in the Detroit Metro Area. Give Slows a try, you won’t be disappointed.

The service was excellent, however, the food seemed to lack adequate seasoning. Perhaps this was an unusual occurrence, as I have heard many positive comments about it. I must also commend the seasonal sauce, which I found to be the best among all the offerings. The wings and pulled pork were satisfactory.

The surprise of the weekend! My fiancé and I were in town for the weekend were looking for somewhere local to eat. Look no further than Slows BBQ! We loved the Giant Wooden Door entrance! The food was delicious, the service was top notch, and the atmosphere was very welcoming! I make a lot of BBQ myself, specifically pulled pork. So I tend to be extra critical when reviewing restaurant made pulled pork. The pulled pork on “The Reason” sandwich was so tender and full of flavor! Not to mention the coleslaw on the sandwich was incredible! Please note that our $30-$40 per person price range did included 2-3 cocktails per person.

I had not been in here in a long time. I found it to be just as enjoyable as I remembered. The waitress was friendly and stayed right on top of things. The atmosphere is great and I love the smell of the place.

Service was AMAZING! Food was okay – read below for details.

Food was okay, looked better than it tasted honestly. The St.Louis Ribs had potential but was very tough. If you get it, make sure to tell the staff to make it extra tender. Baby Back Ribs were okay, more tender but not as flavorful. Brisket was the star of the show, very well cooked. Chicken was not bad and not good.

Sides: cornbread was mid, green beans were dry and lacked flavor, Mac&cheese had an odd flavor but creamy and cooked well.

Food and service were absolutely delicious. Amazing staff, if you’re lucky enough to get Alexis she made the experience top notch. I’m giving away the secret, the door to get in is a mystery, we walked around the entire building, did a double take lots of signs to give directions but no sign on the wall/door to get in. Found out it happens all the time, but well worth the adventure, we will definitely be back.

Ate the American Dream brisket and bacon sandwich! SOLID! Best brisket sandwich I’ve ever had. Super great flavor, good atmosphere, reasonable pricing. Thanks to Shannon for keeping my iced tea filled up, and providing attentive service. Highly recommend and would come love to back.

We’ve been coming here since it opened over 10 years ago. The vibe is super cozy, the barbecue is delicious and every side is worth ordering depending on what you’re in the mood for. My top recommendation is the pulled pork, Mac n cheese, green beans and potato salad. The wood decor inside is so warm and service was friendly. Slows is a consistent experience every time.

Very dry I paid $30 for my meal. The sides were excellent. The first time I came I had rib tips perfect. This time it was bad. Dry ribs weren’t tender almost lungs they saved it from two days ago and served it. Oh well I won’t be back.

attention to detail is key. without it, experiences can -in no time- be ruined. my pull pork combo was to die for, especially them darn sweet potato mash. lord, have mercy. they were delicious! problem was that for my okra SOUP, i never got a spoon. what? also, feeling, acting or even thinking that a person is pretty will never do the job; never! half way through my meal “i asked” for a spoon. tada! m-i-n-u-t-e-s later, i got a TEA spoon. again, pretty will simply never cut it. it took longer for me to get the damn spoon than it did to get the check and lord, i did not even ask for it. i was still eating, boom! there was my check. food was fabulous, service was not. #sloppy *the here is johny cock’tail was divine as were the host team. they said hello and smiled. big difference!
