I had the brisket sandwich at Slow Fire BBQ and it was absolutely amazing, packed with flavor and perfectly tender. It came out really quick, which was a nice surprise. You can really tell they take pride in their smoking process. I also got a side of tater tots, which were crispy, golden, and delicious. Great food, great quality, I’ll definitely be coming back!

Caught the Slow Fire BBQ food truck and ordered the brisket sandwich—wow. Perfectly smoked, tender, and full of flavor. Exactly what you hope for when you see a BBQ food truck. I’ll be chasing this one down again.

Where do I begin?

My son and I have a tradition where we take monthly trips to new barbecue restaurants. Today we hopped in the car and drove an hour and a half down to Savannah to check out slow fire! We got there an hour early and had a great chance to talk with both of the owner and his wife. Wonderful human beings that have a passion for what they do.

The food, oh my God, the food. They don’t typically serve beef ribs on Thursdays, but we pre-ordered some to make sure we had a chance to try them. So juicy, full of flavor and beautifully rendered fat. Between that, the brisket, pulled pork and smoked turkey, everything was top notch. The bark on the brisket and beef ribs with nothing like I’ve tasted before. It had that classic pepper vibe, but it had an interesting crunch about it, which was different, but really good!

Really enjoyed the sauce as well, although I didn’t put it on anything because I like to enjoy the meat as it is. I did sample it and it was A nice combination of vinegar, sweet and ketchup. Between the brussels sprouts, brisket, baked beans, coleslaw, and mac & cheese, the sides were all amazing! Even the fried squares of brisket mac & cheese were great with that little hot honey drizzle.

Everything is to go since there are no places to sit, outside of your own vehicle, but that didn’t ruin the experience at all. We picked up some stickers, took home a lot of food, and enjoyed our quick little trip to Savannah. Thanks again for a great experience and being stop number 15 on our quest for 120 barbecue restaurants.

I’ve tried all the BBQ spots in Savannah and Slowfire is the #1 by a long shot! Definitely worth making a trip out to the truck. Follow them on instagram. I recommend the Dino Rib or the beef brisket. So tender and juicy.

Slow Fire BBQ is in fact the GOAT of BBQ. In my 27 years on this earth and having traveled all over the world, I have never had a better bite of food than their Dino Rib! It is very much worth the pricing and Chef Terren is not just a brilliant culinary artist but is also a stellar human being! Y’all have got a fun and advocate for life.

I strongly advise you to not come to this food truck. Extremely overpriced. Firstly, the address posted does not exist and to find that you to look on Instagram. They’re always out of everything and the food is very dry. Definitely skip wouldn’t feed this to a homeless person if they were begging me.

I got Slow Fire Barbecue before they ran out! Tried the street corn- great side option. The Reuben was really good, midwestern girl that loves kraut! The white sauce is perfect, as I’ve never been a fan of the 1,000 island sauce.
Brussels sprouts are always a favorite and so is the slaw. Consistent and unique flavors.
We had the turkey and brisket. I don’t like turkey but Slow fire makes a good turkey! Brisket is always the best- right up there with my husbands. No lie, this is the best BBQ around, Well deserved awards and attention.

What signifies a Michelin Star Restaurant beyond all its accolades? I think it’s the head chefs creativity and passion culminating in a uniquely tantalizing dish that electrifies ALL the senses!!! I’ve been to many BBQ places all over the country and Terren’s patient passion at SLOWFIRE is expressed in his food & SIDES. By far, my favorite BBQ place in south east GA!!!
