The approach is simple; source the best quality ingredients from local farms and don’t fuss with it too much. We smoke our barbecue the old school way with oak wood and time. Add the right amount of salt and spice and watch that lovely marriage of process and product evolve into something transcendent. We proudly serve the Best Smash Burger on this side of the Mississippi. Maybe Both Sides?

First time visiting Slow Hand Craft BBQ.
I wanted a smokehouse feel and taste and this place did not disappoint.

We had the 2 meat combo & 2 sides. We picked the Brisket & Pulled pork, with an add on of Jalapeño cheddar Sausage. The sides were Mac&Cheese and Baked Beans. It came with pickles & onions.

The brisket was tender and juicy. But a tad bit cold. The pulled pork was perfect and very tasty. The sausage was very tasty. I’d recommend them all. But as I said, a bit warmer.

The baked beans were good and the Mac & Cheese was very good but a tad bit salty.

The service was very fast and very friendly.

They have a large list of BBQ sauces and all were very good. We ended up bringing home the “coffee” one.

Went here for lunch today while in town for business. Loved it!! They cook the BBQ in smokers outside and the smell is intoxicating. We got two brisket smash burgers with sides and it was phenomenal. I should have taken better pics because it doesn’t look like much but was perfect amount for lunch. Will definitely go back sometime down the road. Service and atmosphere was super good.

Very nice place with good food but rather expensive. Went around 1pm Friday and the meat and food was great. Brisket was cooked very well. Nice and soft. The only place I have seen that offers Jones Soda as the fountain drink which, while costly, is very nice. I was not really sold on the sauces as I appreciate a sauce that can glue the meat to my bones. These sauces all seem vinegar based and run right out of the bottle when you tip them. Their “hot” sauce states it’s good for hot heads is not very hot at all, warm at best. Ask personal preference. Another thing is the bread pudding which is delicious, but you really need to warm it up.

Coincidentally, I was attending an off-site Twin Commander technical summit and to my absolute delight Slow Hand Craft BBQ was providing their delicious BBQ specialties. To say I was pleasantly surprised with quality tenderness and taste of pulled pork (my preferences in BBQ) is an understatement. The pulled pork was so yummy that I considered renaming it a ‘vanishing pulled pork’ as attendees just couldn’t get enough of it. Next time, I’m in Peoria, I’d be hitting the restaurant itself!
The whole event was superbly planned and executed by a well matched Event Planning team – ‘enVision’ , who were absolutely flying all over us, catering to our spoiled requests here and there

I had the melt and my husband had the ramen with brisket which was a one night offering. Hopefully they will continue it. Everything was fantastic, hence the 5 stars. If I had to pick at something the cornbread was dry but the butter was tasty. The melt had so many flavors. It’s was greasy but if BBQ isn’t messy is it really BBQ?

Order at counter. Lightning quick service once you’re seated. Array of BBQ sauces. My Texan date said it’s as good as the BBQ joints there. We loved our food.

As we walked in, we were greeted by Wade. Excellent service from him all around. Kept the areas clean, was pleasant, very helpful with getting us settled, and we could tell he had all things under control. We ordered the Kona Burger (2) with chips, pickles and onions, the smothered Fries for our son and had two additional sides, Coleslaw and Mac & cheese. The drinks were grabn’go style which was kind of cool, all chilled and ready to go. Our food came so fast, we named the cooks “fast hand cooks.” Unfortunately, coleslaw being my favorite was the first bite I went for and I was so surprised… It was just terrible. No cream, no twang, no zing, nothing, it was as if they forgot to put everything accept the mustard seeds. Wade was super nice and apologetic and I was able to switch out my side. My son’s fries covered in pulled pork were delish. The chips were perfect in every way. Highly recommend those. My Kona Burger was cold to touch, bun was not toasted and actually – colder than the room (which would not only help keep the food hot but make the experience of the first bite give a drastic difference.) Perhaps I could describe it as I feeling ike I was at a family BBQ and I pulled my meat out of a Luke warm crockpot onto a bun out of a bag slightly smashed. My husband’s Kona Burger was warm to touch, and he loved his Mac’Ncheese. We both loved the flavors of the Kona and didnt want to spoil the entire experience. So we just agreed to do our best to enjoy. I requested for the Fried Cauliflower bc I knew that would definitely have to come out hot and was curious of how they would work their magic. Sure enough, it was hot! It was the hottest of anything served today and had wonderful flavor, loved that there was no breading. It was perfect! The Cavatappti pasta was refreshing to see for a change in the Mac&cheese and we loved that it had black pepper to give it a little touch. We will have to come back and try again, but hope the 10 cent buns will maybe have a reconsideration. Overall- I gotta say, location is great, atmosphere fantastic, friendly, welcoming and definitely worth the flavorful bbq. Temperature for quality control and taking time to prepare vs. speed on dishing it out, can play a huge role and I just can’t pass that part up. For three people, cost was $50. Will definitely be considering the Sampler next time as it sounded really nice too

Top notch. Their OG sausage is delectable! Burnt ends were very good, as was the coleslaw. Mac n’ cheese was good. Another person in our group got the chilli and said it was great.

Waited at the counter for someone to take our order for 15 mins. There were 3 customers eating and no one else in the place. 2 employees, 1 on his phone, looked at us and walked the other way. No greeting or offer to help. Our 1st and last time here. Funny thing is we were told by friends to try it out as were are looking to have a bbq place cater our Christmas dinner. This place is off our list.
Might work on your customer service.

First time trying this restaurant. The food was very good. Burnt ends, pulled pork, coleslaw and fries. Generous portions. You order at a counter and your meal is brought to you then you clear the table when you are done. Some items are ala carte and it can get a little cashy. In my opinion, the cost should reflect the fact that aside from bringing your food to you, you do everything else. No drink refills as everything is bottle or can. As I said, the food is very good and there are several bbq sauce options available at your table. I would dine here again.
