The smoked chicken is absolutely phenomenal. Crispy skin, the rub is to die for, the chicken is moist and incredibly tender. The ribs are perfectly smoked on an enormous stick burner smoker with hickory wood and pecan. Tender and tasty with an excellent dry rub. It’s pricey but worth every dime when I go. My plate and drink before tip were $40. But you get your moneys worth. The cornbread isn’t good at all, it has a peculiar taste and is very dry and crumbly. The beans and slaw were good. A little small on the portion for the beans but you get so much meat you’re full.
Oh and this place is so popular, sometimes there’s a line down the street two blocks from the steps. So be prepared to wait. I love this place though! I always make it a point to stop in when I’m in the area.
My recent visit to this establishment was truly a delightful surprise. Right away, I was impressed by how nice the place was; it’s clearly clean and well-maintained, which immediately sets a comfortable and inviting tone. Every corner seemed to be thoughtfully looked after, making the environment genuinely pleasant.
The experience was further elevated by the friendly and professional staff. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine warmth and efficiency. The team here clearly takes pride in their work, offering attentive service that makes you feel valued without being intrusive.
And then there’s the food! It was simply good food, but what truly stood out was the good quality and quantity. Each dish tasted fresh and well-prepared, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. It’s rare to find such a satisfying dining experience, especially when you consider its location.
What makes this place truly special is its setting: a restaurant like this in a remote place is so nice. It’s a genuine discovery, offering a high-quality experience in an area where you might not expect to find it. This sense of pleasant surprise adds significantly to its charm.
My visit here was perfectly timed after exploring the local attractions. We came here after visiting the marble quarry and lake nearby, and after a small off-road drive. This made the stop feel like a well-deserved reward after a day of adventure, seamlessly blending the natural beauty of the area with a fantastic culinary and hospitality experience. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and refuel.
I recommend sitting on the bar table on the patio to enjoy the beautiful mountain views while relishing your lunch.
Emma was a great hostess!
The food? Incredible. We tried the brisket nachos, the brisket beef platter, and the blueberry lemonade — every single bite and sip was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The brisket was juicy and tender, the nachos were loaded and delicious, and that blueberry lemonade was so refreshing and unique!
If you’re in the area and love good BBQ, this place is a must-visit. Great vibes, amazing food, and service that makes you feel right at home. We’ll definitely be back!
We got the brisket, sausage, smoked salmon and the burnt ends. The brisket is absolutely the winner, but everything was wonderful.
Service was excellent and the beer selection was fantastic. It’s worth the drive to Marble just to try this place out.
