This is the 4th time I’ve had Slim chickens, a few in different states, and this place serves awesome tenders and the price is very reasonable. I highly suggest this place whenever I see them. However the wing were a major disappointment. Very dry and rubbery. Considering fries and chicken are probably the only things going in a fryer I was very let down by the wings. Other than that, the tenders were nicely done and so were the fries.

First time! The staff was awesome. Friendly and helpful as can be. I chose to eat in- you can order from a person or a kiosk- I did the kiosk. Pretty straight forward to use.
Mix of tables and booths for seating plus a patio area. Double drive through option as well. Very clean inside. Including the bathroom. Seating for 60 inside? Not sure on that. Beverage and condiment stations well organized and easy to get to.
I had the 3 and 3- 3 tenders and 3 wings. Chose buffalo sauce for my wings. There were at least 10 options for sauces, probably more. Side of macaroni and cheese for an uncharted of .79 cents. Instead of fries.
The tenders were small. Okay flavor, more chewy than other places which wasn’t my personal favorite. Wings good- came with 2 dips of choice. I had blue cheese and ranch. Both good. A piece of buttered toast, too. Toast I didn’t like. Mac and cheese was very good.
Total $16 and change. Meal came with a drink. IDK if I will go again, but am super glad I tried them out. Des Moines has a tough chicken market!!! Lots of competition.

Some of the best chicken tenders I’ve ever had – juicy, not greasy, and not fried hard or overcooked – perfect. Sauces were good but preferred chicken without the sauce because it was just that good. The manager and staff at this location also get an A++ for outstanding customer service! Oh, the buttered toast was a treat I didn’t know I needed 🙂

Get the Chicken Club! It was so perfectly juicy! Also, their app grants rewards. You can either order from the kiosk or there’s usually someone up front to help you. You get a free brownie if you answer the survey on the receipt. This is my second time coming here, and my first time eating in. The restaurant was extremely clean, prices are decent, quality is good, and the staff was very welcoming. Brayden helped us and although she hadn’t been there long she answered any questions she could. The food took a little longer than usual but it was worth the wait!

Every time I go to this Slim Chickens location, I have an incredibly pleasant experience. Me and my friend go there regularly and our expectations are not only met, but exceeded. A few times I’ve been there, I had to luxury of being assisted my Catherine, she is lovely! Her polite and friendly attitude always brightens my day, and on many occasions, she’s gone way above and being to make our experience the best one possible! I can tell she’s got this whole customer experience thing down to an art form! I haven’t had much interaction with the rest of the staff, but the small bits and pieces have all been very satisfactory as well. I believe Justin took my order last time, he was also very kind, friendly, and engaging!

Easy 5 stars. Southern hospitality where they make you feel like family or old friends. I’ve been here a few times and the food has always been hot, fast, and accurate.
I forgot to mention tasty and full of flavor. There is no need to call out which menu item is delicious because they all are.
We will be enjoying this place a lot! If you haven’t given it a try, you are missing out on what fast food should be.

Waukee is adding more top notch tasty drive ups off S.E Alice Road. Slim Chicken is two months old and has an assortment of offerings from wings, tenders and sides that are simply delicious. I ordered 6 fat free wings tossed in lemon pepper using soybean oil. The wait is longer than most due to the entree being made to order with the freshest ingredients. The Manager and Kathryn made each customer feel welcomed. Stop in and welcome this super clean, with plenty of parking dine in or drive up casual establishment to the neighborhood,

I think the food is good. The fries are my favorite. The last two times I’ve been here the service was really slow, but I excuse it if the food is worth it.
Tonight I got home and my fountain drink had a hole in it. Both my cup holders were full of my drink. I got it all over me trying to pull the cup holders out.
I came to have an easy meal, and now I’m going outside to clean my car.

Just had Slim Chickens Waukee for the first time. Ordered “3 and 3” and a crispy chicken sandwich. Both were fantastic! My sandwich was thick and juicy, and the workers were very friendly. Awesome experience and will be back!
