Be sure to follow up with their social media to see when they will be open or closed. I made the mistake of visiting during one of their catering days. They do seem to run out of meats by 2 PM (I visited another time when all they had was brisket, but I wanted to return to try all of the meats). So after the 3rd attempt, I finally got to go as soon as they opened. In which they already had a line forming. I ordered the lil hoss to try a bit of everything. Pictured you see sausage, tri-tip, ribs, brisket, potato salad, mac&cheese, & cornbread. I did try all of the meats before adding on the bbq sauce. This is just my preferred way of eating it. The tri-tip was too well done for my liking. The ribs were very mid and did not have much flavor. Both sausages easily crumbled when picked up with a fork. I do like that the sides and bbq sauce are made from scratch. However, the potato salad was quite sour. If you like sour, you’d probably like it. The Mac & cheese was pretty good, but texture-wise it seemed almost as if it was leftovers from the previous day. The cornbread (which is also made from scratch) was pretty good, but a bit undercooked and mushy as a previous reviewer has stated. As for the bbq sauce, the flavor is good but it does taste mostly like ketchup. Unlike most bbq sauces that have more of a smoky taste. The only meat that I did enjoy was the brisket. It was very tender as others have stated. Overall, I give this place a solid 6/10. Would I go out of my way to try this place again on purpose ? Probably not, but if I was invited out to eat here I would definitely just get a brisket sandwich. I heard raving reviews about this place and had to try it out for myself. I am a cook, so I do nitpick when going out to eat. I do think this place is good to people around the area (considering there’s nothing nearby), but it’s not the best bbq I’ve had.

Usually good but today I ordered a slab for pick up and got a burnt greasy mess. Not consistent. The corn bread was doughy also.

This was our first time trying the food at this place. We ordered for pickup. And I almost fainted driving from the aroma of the brisket, mixing in the air with the pork ribs inside our suv. We got home and my teenager had a huge smile carrying the box of meat nirvana. The wifey unboxed the food and the aroma hit hard. My stomach growled uncontrollably, my eyes looked up and thanked the good Lord for what we are about to consume. The pulled pork-soft, tender, and a scoop went into my mouth. The pork ribs were so soft and tender that you could eat it with your gums, the brisket was delicately ushered into my mouth and slowly chewed as to enjoy the flavor of the meat and smokiness. The jalapeño cheese sausage is the one to order- it was delicious, cheesy with a hit of jalapeño-made my head sweat. The Mac and cheese was loaded with cheese-several spoonfuls went into my mouth. The cornbread had corn in it, I ate it and was giggling on how flippin good it tasted. The baked beans had meat, sliced bell peppers, onion and beans-it was so effin good I can’t explain it. Then I put the sauce on the meats to only experience the next level of life. I started getting emotional and thought how come these people are not my friends. I was starting to tear up but I kept my self together. The whole my wife was ranting and raving and almost crying because of how overly good the food was and kept bragging on how she picked Slick Fork as our next spot to try. I dont know if I can go anywhere else to get bbq. Thanks Slick Fork for the love and passion your team put into bbq.

My husband and I ate some of the best BBQ for lunch at Slick Fork in Hughson today. This eatery opens at 11am, serving Tri-Tip, Brisket, Pulled Pork, Pork Spare Ribs, Sausage, and Boneless Chicken until “sold out”.
We ordered the Brisket Bowl (chopped BBQ Brisket piled on top of delicious home made Mac ‘n’ Cheese) and the Rib Plate (3-4 extremely tender BBQ Pork Ribs w/one side… I chose Cowboy Corn, which is served off the cob; a creamy, flavorful dish.)

The Corn bread had sold out by the time we got there, so we’ll definitely be back…earlier this time.
The Slick Fork takes orders through a Walk-up window outside. The food is packaged to-go, but there are several picnic-type tables and benches outside the restaurant if you’d enjoy eating your BBQ fare outside.
We are beyond impressed with this restaurant.

Right off Santa Fe road in Hughson. I was going to hit up the Tri tip sandwich however a young man suggested the Brisket, outstanding suggestion. I’ll be back to try tri tip and chicken. Seating outside only. Many to go orders flew by as I devoured my sandwich. The name itself hooked me but the food will bring me back..

Excellent tri-tip sandwiches!! You can find their Moblie unit in the corner of coffee and scenic most of the time, but they are at the Dying Breed Brewery in Oakdale this evening!

Stopped in to try it for the first time and even though they had no Tri-Tip this week and were out of MAC and Cheese what we did have was delicious. My wife and I tried the Rib plate with potato salad, brisket bowl over baked beans, corn bread, jalapeno cheddar sausage and chili relleno sausage. The BBQ sauce has good flavor sweet and tangy and paired well with the ribs brisket and sausages. The beans were thick and rich, the potato salad creamy and the corn bread was delicious! Outside eating only but there is some shade trees and umbrellas. They could use a good combo plate on the menu but we pieced a delicious BBQ spread together with what they had! The two people we interacted with were very cool and polite. Definitely worth stopping in for some BBQ.

First time trying them out while at the Hughson street fair. Best brisket ever. I ordered the brisket nachos. Had to save 1/2 so filling. Recommend to anyone who loves BBQ.
